Spent thanksgiving camping on High Falls! Best Thanksgiving ever. High Falls is a beautiful setting with great trails with beautiful views of the falls and water. Very dog friendly park with nice camping sites. There are stores very close for all the little things you forget/need, there is a Dollar General, a hardware store, a mini-mart and several gas stations with many items that are not normally in gas stations. There area caters to campers.

Great hiking easy acess to parking and trails. The hike can be hard for those with difficulties in climbing or descending. Must be in good shape. The falls can be seen close by without hiking too far.

It is very beautiful for a family picnic or something but has become so hazardous. From Summer 2017 to Oct 2017 there has been two deaths that I know of; one being a 12 yr old boy of High Falls and another a older woman from Acworth. I know there has been more. There was also a bull shark reported by the news in Towaliga River about a few weeks ago too, and it was a decent size. I just don't believe the Falls is for swimming since the rocks are just too hazardous there's so many unseen holes. Rumor has it that there has been seen a catfish under the dam the size of a Volkswagen Beetle. Be careful EXTREMELY!! Enjoy the scenery, but would not recommend swimming. If so, KEEP a close eye out for your loved ones.

We just enjoyed 3 night's of camping. Park is very nice and restrooms were clean. Plan on going back soon. Also staff and volunteers were very friendly.

Very nice park, stayed in the yurts and hiked some great trails; there seemed to be a problem with an ant infestation and our yurts had to be sprayed a couple times and they were all over the park. The falls are so beautiful and the campground hosts as well as the employees we encountered were very friendly and accessible. The pool was great on a hot day and seemed clean and well maintained.

The falls were spectacular! The trails are NOT for the faint of heart though. These are some rough and at times pretty steep paths so plan wisely! Beautiful spot with tons to do, rentals up on lake along with gorgeous park and campground with all kinds of amenities.

Very nice park for hiking. Has fishing, picnic areas and smoke parking. The hike along the river is well marked and maintained. Didn't notice any poison ivy even when going off the main path. Several Geocaching sites throughout park. Old ruins of a hydro? power plant are very neat to look at but are fenced off. The whole family had a good time.

My family and I enjoyed the camping and the trails to the falls. The sites and facilities are well maintained. The issue we had was related to the reservation system on the website. After a heated debate with the staff and a ranger we were able to work things out to our liking. Fortunately the reservation system will go site specific in June or July. That didn't help us this trip.

It was a fun quick hour stop to just walk around to see if I wanted to plan a party there. With beautiful views and great trails to go walk around. I would say this is a place to go for a half day or full day of walking around enjoying the sites.

Great place to bring the family for hiking trails and the scenic falls. Though fall is created by dam, on the South end of main road, dam is not seen and area is rocky with fast rapidsvery scenic This is the area the trail are located. Unsure of number of trails or distance (we were with a three year old). We walked about a mile through trail that runs parallel with river. Trail has a good bit of elevation change. Don't even think about bringing stroller.
State park also has a decent playground area and plenty of seating for picnic.

This is a nice park situated on a long winding road. When we lived in Henry County we came to this park a few times. The kids especially liked it. There are some cool waterfalls and lots of land/park. When the tide is low, you can actually crawl up the rocks. My kids found an intact coconut here one day.
You can bring food and cookout on one of the park supplied grills. There is no fee to enter the park.response / report this review
