Tl;dr: this place sucked. Don't come here.

Seediest motel I have ever stayed. Everything is broken down and dilapidated. I normally don't mind staying in crappy places, but this place was the absolute worst. Room smelled of smoke, mattresses are worn-down, no housekeeping, no one ever takes out the trash, and there was all sorts of yelling and shouting. I stayed here a week. Asked for a refund if I checked out early, but they wouldn't give it to me. Also in a shady part of town, which I didn't realize until too late.

EDIT: I love how just about every 5/5 review on here is anonymous, by “A Google User” whereas just about every 1/5 review on here has actual people’s names just something to mull over before making your choice of hotel.

Stayed one night. Sunday special. Room was not bad. Bed was comfy staff was polite only issue I had was the toilet ran every 10 min. Room could have used some fresh paint and a newer tv. But for the price it was a nice night's rest.

Cheap and conveniently close to the interstate and mall. Though I would choose super 8. Especially if travelling with family.

I have been coming to The Home Town Inn for a few years. We enjoy the nights when we get a jacuzzi room. Yes, they do have nice jacuzzi rooms!

Stayed in the jacuzzi suite and it was AMAZING, this same type of room was gonna cost us about 209.99 plus tax at holiday inn and we only paid 109.99 plus tax here for basically the same room! The jets feel amazing on your back and the hot tub is nice and spacious

Horrible place. Drugs and prostitutes run rampid through out the entire campus. Not a place to vacation or take your kids. They present as a nice place with a pool until you get in there and you realize you're in a ghetto motel

I am so glad we came to Home Town Inn. We had a reservation at Super 8 but they wouldn't honor our reservation because they were sold out but had a room with one bed for $90. WHAT?? Anyways we got a room for $66 and slept just fine. What a blessing.

STAY AWAY. Do not even waste your time with this one. We needed somewhere to stay during a 2 day festival in Clio, MI & this was one of the first to pop up when our friend searched for hotels. Got there and before we even open the door to the small lobby, we hear yelling. Three young women were very angry & screaming that they wanted their money back because the room had mice & was dirty. They said it was the most run down place they had been to and that we should just turn around. So that was enough for us. It is also enough for me to give a one star. Seeing these other reviews now, I think this place needs a major makeover & moral boost.

This place is a total dump. No way I would EVER stay here. They are so dirty and gross. Black mold growing under the wood trim in the walls. Roof is falling apart. This place also has a ton of drug users and activity going on here. Cops are in here alot. It has been shut down twice already. There a ton of people actually living there. So very sad.

I thought my story would give some insight into the history of this place. My review takes place about 10 years ago and concerns the motel this one used to be. According to recent reviews it hasn't changed much lol My dad, my step-mom and myself stopped to get a room for one night as we were passing through to go to Indiana. We were sent to the back section. Our room smelled like nothing I've ever smelled before or since. The bathroom obviously hadn't been cleaned at all. There was a used bar of soap with hair on it on the edge of the tub. As they started inspecting the room more for cleanliness, I noticed a door beside the one bed. Thinking it was a closet, I opened it and found that it led right into the next motel room and it couldn't be locked. Just as I was showing my dad this door, some guy comes bursting through our front door yelling and swearing, then realized he was in the wrong room and ran out. We decided to get the hell out of therefast. As we jump in the car, I look out the window and see this woman (scantily clad with black thigh-high boots) come running out of the room at the end of the row. She jumps in a car, backs up quickly, smashes into this light post/hydro pole and then speeds out of the parking lot like her life depended on it. This all went down in the span of maybe 7 minutes. We went back up to the office to get our money back, but apparently the clerk gave my dad a hard time. I don't remember if we actually got our money back or not, but I do remember that my dad and step-mom were absolutely furious when they (speed walked) back to the carIt was completely insane.

They have made some changes like added security and a perimeter fence, which makes the motel feel more enclosed. I guess when you are alone, it makes you feel safer. Personally, I like the small neighborhood feel I get when I am staying here. It's cozy and laid back.

My kids enjoyed that they had a pool and myself and my husband enjoyed the price. Overall we had a nice stay.
