I would not recommend Art Van. If you ever have a warranty problem they are extremely hard to work with to fix the problem. Especially since it was my mattress I had to sleep on a air mattress for a long time because of their poor service.
Bought a $ 2200.00 couch an love seat 5 years ago an purchased the ten year warranty & now they won't warranty the furniture. One tech said we didn't saturate the leather with conditioner , the cleaning supplies the store gave us didn't say anything about that on the bottle , so another tech comes out an said to much wear, there it anyone at home home from 6am until 6pm an I travel for work so I'm not home much so they are telling me my wife an daughter wore out the furniture in 5 yrs don't think so they just don't stand behind anything they say!!!! I will never purchase another thing from any Art Van store again, I would rather buy furniture from Big Lots at least I know what I'm getting!!!!!!!
I bought the pure sleep mattress. I tried the machine twice. To make sure it is accurate. Cause I did not believe it could tell me the perfect matresss. My sales lady said it is so accurate. That there is a 1% return rate. So I'm like cool. I'll take it. $2k later. I get the worst sleep. I wake up every morning in back pain. So I went back to talk to them about it. They said give it a month. So I did. Same. Pure back pain and constantly waking up in night. So I called art van direct. Art van said. Sorry. But there is no return on mattresses. Mine you. My sales lady said there is a 1% return rate. That's how good it is. I went and bought a $300 mattress from menards. Sleep great know. So be cautious. Very cautious. Hate the mattress. And know I'm out 2k. Will never buy from art van ever again. I actually spent 3 k that day. Bought 2 recliners also. Week after I got it. Massage went out. Well that was a different fight of its own to get that repaired.
Horrible customer service 😡. I'm a new resident of this state with no other relatives nearby. Not to mention that I am also a public servant for the community with a pretty demanding schedule. I specifically requested to notify the delivery drivers that my shift does not end until 3:30, and to make me the last delivery if possible. However, I had already made arrangements to leave wrk 30mins early in order to be home before 3:00. Original scheduled delivery was confirmed between 1-4. Instead, the drivers show up at 2:40pm and mis-tripped my delivery due to my absence. Once I learned of the mis-trip, I called immediately hoping to confirm a reroute. However, that never happened. I was left on hold for over 30mins by my sales associate Sharon, who was very rude and disconnected the call in my face. It's a good thing I was already in route to the store. Once there, I spoke with an homely unprofessional looking fella that introduced himself as the manager. He was very dismissive and condescending. At 2:40pm my delivery was mis-tripped, the delivery drivers were back in the the office at exactly 3:00 standing around and gossiping with coworkers once I arrived. Instead of rushing to ride the clock until punch-out time, the drivers could have waited those 15-20mins until my arrival to deliver my furniture. It was made very clear today that my business is not wanted nor respected here. I will never shop here again. Also, I made sure that Sharon did not receive credit/commission on this deal.
My wife and I purchased a leather living room sectional from your store in Burton, MI your staff there were very helpful and courteous, We will definitely be shopping their in the near future
The Sales associates on the floor are extremely friendly, a little pushy (in a sly way), but friendly none the less. Sharon on the other hand (store manager) is the complete opposite. Extremely rude over the phone, talks to you as though you are a waste of her time. It is because of her that my fiance' and I will no longer shop at Art Van. And we need all brand new furniture, sosomeone else will profit from that LARGE purchase.
Update: Adjustment to our bill has still not been made (it has been over 2 mths now) STILL waiting for Sharon to call me back, been 5 days now
Went to art van about 2 weeks ago bought a bunk bed set and spent a good amount of money the only person who has been professional was the lady that helped me buy the bed, but after that they have not called me back with any information and i called to check on the status, and one of the ladies that answered the phone was very rude like i was annoying her. Just a thought on this she is in customer service and u probably shouldnt be rude to customers. Worst experience ever! will NEVER go back!!!!! I'll spend my money somewhere else.
Highly do not recommend this store have purchased over 30000 dollars in furniture through art van in my life but now is time to find another store over a silly 5 dollar there cost ladder.recently was in process of purchasing living room sets and kid sets. One was a bunk bed where price on floor does not included ladder found out few days later when we went to purchase some more furniture.we ask manager to include said no.well then we canceled order. Also we stopped in to check out mattress that time manager was training new guy was very rude to us that time also .So in my opinion stay away from this store manager been there to long and is starting to get very rude have dealt with him for many years and it is time for him to go
Walked into your store today with my 25 year old son in his new apt. When we walked in we were given the once over by your sales people, and soon it was apparent that we were not worth their time and didn't need to be bothered with. Till we got to the clearance center and then we mattered! kudos to that salesman for caring! Just to let you all know we may not have looked the part, but my credit rating is 796!!!! so sad you lost!!! Could have mad some good commission!!! I will remember this next time. Just saying kinda sad!!!
We found and fell in love with an L-shaped desk in your clearance Center. It was nice and sophisticated, the kind of furniture that would last us a very long time, if not forever. Our interaction with one of the sales persons was very lack-luster. After we zeroed in on the desk I picked out online, the salesperson seemed less-than-interested in working for our business. I am always hesitant when purchasing a high-ticket item, as I am fairly frugal and try to keep within a budget. I wanted to make sure this was the desk I really wanted. Upon inspection of the floor model, I asked the salesperson whether the surface of the desk was actually scratch-resistant, as the description on the website had stated. She immediately became defensive and asked me who told me that and absolutely not. I am not sure what that was about. I was just asking a question. Then, as I proceeded to think about it (it was probably about 10 to 15 minutes total I thought about it) the salesperson decided she would make a personal phone call home to instruct someone to begin dinner. I am pretty sure I am the reason the sales person can have dinner, so I would have preferred them to focus on me a bit more, helping me through my purchase. Eventually, I decided to purchase, and we paid in full with my debit card. After we purchased, we were informed that the desk would be in 2 days later. We called 2 days later, and it was in fact in, and we proceeded to procure the fairly heavy and large item that barely fit in our crossover vehicle ( unable to close the gate). After we returned home with our desk, I anxiously opened and unloaded box 1 of 2. After beginning to open box 2 of 2, I noticed it was a different color. We proceeded to immediately call Art Van Furniture on Center Rd. in Burton, Mi. Your customer service rep/manager told us that he would check into this and call us back to find out how he could "make this right" with us. When he called back, we thought it was fair that they deliver the new box, and pick up the incorrect one. We live pretty close-5 min. away. He then told us that this was "our responsibility" to make sure that 2 boxes that look almost identical were exactly the same. Upon first glance they looked correct. Literally the only difference is their color, meaning the color of the desks. The boxes are near identical. How is this our responsibility? How many opportunities did your employees have to see that one wasn't correct? Also, he said that the box could fit in the back seat of a car. How? The box is 134 lbs, almost 6 ft. long and 3 ft. wide.
My husband and I unloaded it together with a fair amount of struggling, since it was heavy (134 lbs) and a little awkward. He's 6 ft. and very beefy. I am pretty strong, but I also have a deteriorating spine which I've had a lumbar fusion surgery and a few bulging discs in my neck and thoracic spine with significant arm weakness and arthritis. (Yes, I did not win the genetic lottery. If you'd like to know more about my body and what hell I've been through, let me know. I am NOT exaggerating.) I just didn't have it in me to go through that again. I can't believe the manager would have suggested this to us. This is not our fault. If your policy isn't really to "make it right" you shouldn't suggest it. Or maybe you should have your employees who help you load it suggest we inspect the packages very closely to make sure they're right.
We purchased our dining room table, kitchen table, living room furniture, and our bed frame/tempurpedic mattress from you. So, ya know, we've spent a LOT of money with you. So, thank you for letting us now see that there are other companies to take our business to from now on.
The absolute worst experience ever. The first sales person I talked to could not concentrate on my needs for thirty seconds without answering the phone, then needing to ask me to repeat what i had just said about fifteen times. He then could not be bothered to fill out a credit app for me, and passed me off to another employee. This other employee, a so called manager I later find out, was also preoccupied with everything that was not work, like dinner plans and his upcoming vacation. The manager repeatedly lied to me , telling me the mattress and box spring i was trying to purchase was in stock. After finally getting approved for the purchase, and putting $140 down, I find out that they do not have what i thought i just purchased in stock. If you want to deal with lazy, do not do their jobs well, couldn't care less about the customer sales people who lie to you, Art Van in Burton is where to do business. Picking furniture out of the trash will leave you with a better experience.
