The employees that work at this hotel are amazing and nice. So i will definitely will stay here again.
Great staff. Friendly atmosphere. Clean rooms. Free hot breakfast. Oven baked chocolate chip cookies in the evening.
These hotel rooms are DISGUSTING! The first room my family was in seemed nice at first but then noticed roaches in the bathroom and mold on the ceiling above the tub, when I called they came to spray and then moved me. The second room I was in had a gray ring of scum in the tub and had a terrible musty smell, also had the same staining on the ceiling above the tub. I'm assuming they've had water damage and just painted over it. The front desk and housekeepers are nice but this hotel is disgusting! Believe it or not I was better off at Motel 6! I was on the second floor. Maybe the other floors are nicer?
This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I booked a room here on Saturday before Irma. The guy took my money and asked to to sign agreeing to checkout the day of the storm. I reminded him that we needed two nights. He said he would work with the manager to fix the booking. Not wanting to be difficult, I agreed to call in the morning to extend the dates. I called in the morning, a new guy was at the front desk. I think his name was Rusty. He said he wasn't sure if I could extend it. Next thing I know room service tries to get in the room. I declined service. Then Rusty calls me back saying he would call the cops if I didn't leave immediately. It was 11:20. I knew the cops had bigger fish to fry but I decided I did not want to give them one more fine of my money. What made me different from everyone else is that I am Black. He valued me and my business less than others. The customer service people were terrible too. It was like pulling teeth to get the customer service person to find us another room elsewhere. They were perfectly fine putting me and my minor child and puppy out in the streets during an impending natural disaster. I was shocked at his callousness. They will never get my business again.
I spent three days in Venice, Florida with my family and my last night was at Holiday inn Express. The place was in the middle of building improvements, therefore the outside mostly was dusty from the construction. The building is clearly older than Fairfield inn from across the street, where I spent my first two nights. The room furniture and fixtures were showing their age but were clean. Technology is not like the competition but it's satisfying. My night was quiet and breakfast served on time and plentiful. This would not be my first choice if I were to come back but I would still consider this hotel. Great staff and good prices.
EDIT:
Two days later we stayed in the Best Western next door. Bigger rooms, plent of parking, nicer hotel. All good for $20 LESS per night.

Location is good. Restaurant next door Brewburger. Several gas stations on the nearest cross streets. Staff is very nice. Rooms are clean. Microwave and fridge in room. They are remodeling and that would have been nice to know before staying. Parking is minimal. I got the last spot available at 10pm. The elevator is well off the lobby. Kurig coffee maker in room was nice. A water bottle was opened and half full. It could only be left from previous guest or hotel staff. Overall, good for the price or an overnight stay. I'm staying two nights. They have a pool, but Nacomis beach is only 15 minutes away.
Very accommodating. Rooms are nice. Good water pressure. Parking lot is difficult due to co struction.
Not so good, not so bad.
They need more parking space.
Very good personal, very friendly.
The pool is under construction. The pancake machine is broken. One of my "clean" towels looked dirty. I'd wait awhile before coming to this location if I were you.
We stayed March 24-25, 2017. Upon booking was told pet fee was a refundable deposit of $75.00. When we arrived we were told that was not the case, that it is a $75.00 charge even if you stay for one night. This seems outrageous. The manager reduced the charge to $40.00 due to our dispute and we were exhausted and just went for it. We can understand $10.00 a night for a pet but $75.00 for a pet friendly hotel? We were given room 118, which had filthy carpeting and the room chair had multiple dirty spots all over it. The view outside the window was blocked by 2 large metal shipping containers. These containers also blocked easy access to the rear entrance which we needed as one of us has mobility issues. We would not recommend staying at this location due to its condition and extreme pet fee.
