Beautiful hotel and very clean. They didn't have blankets in the room or at the front desk so if you get cold bring one and It took twenty minutes to check our because no one was at the front desk for 15 minutes

The price was not horrible, the food was not too bad. Pancake machine was broken this morning. Arrived really late so I was buzzed in. I walk through the front door and the lady at the desk says " What do you need, we don't have any rooms?" I was shocked! I told her that I was there on business and had reserved a room several nights ago. She rambled looking on both computers and then asked for my last name. Finally after 10 minutes she says OH, they already checked you in. No apologies or anything. Next day, walked down for breakfast- Not a hello, have a nice day, how was everything. Just awful customer service! I stayed on the 4th floor and there was an awful smell(Like sewage) in the hall the entire day. My room was not very clean. The beds were made really well though. Dust was everywhere and it seemed run down. I had just left another Holiday Inn in Franklin, TN and the service there was EXCELLENT. I normally stay at the Hilton or Marriott but loved the Holiday Inn in Franklin, TN so decided to get a membership and try Holiday Inn in general. I often go to Spartanburg for work but will never stay here again! I'd say work with the entire staff on customer service and ensure that the rooms are clean this includes cleaning the visible dirt on the desk, floors and lamps. I needed to get a late check-out of noon instead of 11:00 but was told that they had just booked my room to someone. I thought check in was at 3:00 pm, but I guess they needed time to clean the room.

The hotel itself is pretty good really. The daytime staff is great as well. Breakfast was fantastic. However Katherine that works at night needs to be fired. The only one on staff at 9:30 on a Saturday and has no business being left in charge. Laughed in our face at a complaint about another guest. Didn’t have the GM info to give me. Gave me the assistants card with nothing but the hotel front desk number on it. I’ve never in my life had an employee handle a complaint like this. Paid good money to stay here and can’t enjoy the amenities they offer.
S/N: it still amazes me that adults act this way. Mind you I’m not old I’m in my late 20s. Blows my mind.response / report this review -

Stayed there one night. The check in was quick, the room was clean. The breakfast was excellent. They had a wide variety of breakfast choices including some healthy options.

We reserved a double bed SMOKE FREE room through a third party website. When we arrived at Holiday Inn, we were told they didn't have a non smoker room available. Long story short, we were given a room on the fifth floor (smoker floor). We only stayed for 4 hours in that room. Impossible to sleep. Note that I took pictures of their parking lot. It's impossible that they didn't have a non smoker room. I repeat: IMPOSSIBLE. Torrible service.

Excellent experience. My heat pump went out on the Friday afternoon I was starting a 3 day-12 hour night shift. I went to my hotel of choice when I got off at 7:30 Saturday morning and was told nothing available until that afternoon. I went across the street to this Holiday Inn Express and the desk clerk found a room that had checked out, coordinated with the cleaning crew leader and had me in a sparkling clean room by 9:30. I slept soundly all day all weekendthanks to this caring, efficient staff. Everyone had smiles and a welcoming attitude. They really helped make my situation less stressful. The Keurig in the room was an awesome bonus as well as the breakfast. I have a new hotel of choice!

Hotel is decent, location is horrible (no restaurants within about 15 minutes) and staff is somewhat rude. Housekeeping does a good job and hotel is clean overall. Free breakfast is pretty good, one step below Marriott brand.
