After driving for 10 hours you would expect the Holiday Inn to be a great place to get some sleep. NOT. The walls are super thin, you can here here the conversations in the next room along with the TV and the radio. When I called the front desk I was told there was nothing they could do and that they had ear plugs down stairs.

I will take a Holiday Inn Express any day over a full service Holiday Inn. So disappointed and for the price I paid for the night.

So if you want to get a good night's sleep don't come to the Holiday Inn in Effingham, IL at 1301 Mid America Ave.

A wonderful hotel! Thank you for your care in maintaining a super clean and sparkling facility! ✨ Immaculate rooms with comfortable beds make for a special expirence. Well-laid out bathrooms with luxurious towels combine to make mornings special! Really enjoyed the Keurig coffee maker in the room! Delicious and easy-to-make with no chance for fumbling with components of coffee in the morning, just sit back and enjoy! ☕☕ Thank you for a great visit!

The service and food were excellent. Some at our table had wine or a drink and all seemed to be good. Most of us had the dinner specials and were very happy with them. My salmon and rice was excellent.

My wife and I needed to stay one night without a reservation and was given a King bed room with a whirlpool tub. The bed was extremely comfortable and the whirlpool was great! The walls seemed well insulated so it was nice and quiet throughout the night. I recommend staying here.

We stayed one night while traveling to Nashville, and the hotel was great! The beds were very comfortable, the staff was all very friendly, the hotel and rooms were very clean!

My family and I stayed here on our way back to Chicago from South Carolina. I haven't stayed at Holiday Inn since I was a kid. I was pleasantly surprised with all the nice updates, the rooms were pleasantly decorated, very clean and the staff is friendly. My son accidentally broke a dish at the counter when eating breakfast and they were very kind and gracious about it. I then realized I had forgotten my Kindle under my pillow when I got home I called the hotel and left a message with the manager Heather. When my voicemail with our address was accidentally deleted she graciously mailed it back to me after my phone follow up call FedEx at no charge. That kind of service definitely encourages me to stop back there for another stay when we travel back to South Carolina.

Very clean hotel and rooms. Comfy beds. THE MUSIC THOUGH My wife and I are celebrating our anniversary and wanted to be away from home in peace and quiet but there's an extremely loud, live band playing damn near outside our window. I had a long drive today and all I want is to rest, but not even the sound from the AC can drown out the guitar noise and the singing/screaming. Would never have stayed here if I knew it was like that 😖

We ended up stopping in Effingham after a long days drive. We had no reservations and stopped at another hotel before going to the Holiday Inn. The other hotel was a little cheaper, but fully booked. We drove over to the Holiday Inn and was lucky to get a room!

The lobby area was clean, modern and beautiful. The desk receptionist was very warm and helpful at check in. The room was clean, updated and comfortable. The small details were really nice in the room- upgraded toiletries (including a face toilette and mouthwash) a top cover on the bed that wasn't just a sheet, but a textured duvet cover and outlets on the lamps. Yes, these are all minutiae, but make the difference. I am happy we were able to experience this holiday inn! We will stay there again if passing through.

This Holiday Inn used to be a Hilton property - and it looks like it. The lobby feels very modern and recently renovated with the typical Hilton Garden Inn layout. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable.

Beautiful, modern rooms, incredibly clean not only in the room but all of the common areas. Inexpensive restaurant and extremely accommodating and friendly staff. Convention center was elegant for the battalion ball we attended there.

I stayed with my daughters (ages 2.5 and 4.5) for one night. The pool was incredible! Bathwater warm and so welcoming for new swimmers. Kids eat free was great! Our server was attentive and kind when my kid spilled her milk under the table. Live music 7-9pm was a nice touch. The room was clean and nicely decorated. I appreciated that the room had Sprout cable so I could take a shower in peace after they were tucked in. The front desk worker was helpful enough to visit our room when I was unable to get the TV working. She solved the problem immediately. My 2 year old enjoyed exploring the microwave buttons as it was down at her level. I will stay here again!
