There was lots of interesting routes for my son and a beautiful area for me to take pictures.
Beautiful area to visit whether you're climbing, riding or hiking.
Very fun outdoor climbing about an hour from downtown Columbus! Can't beat it for the proximity. Rock is a bit chossy but that makes it exciting. Never terribly busy in my experience and tons of other outdoor attractions very nearby.
Beautiful spot for climbing and rappelling. The hike in its pretty strenuous, but short. Trail is shared use- bridle and hiking, so watch for horses and manure!
Once you cross the Bridge the trail to your left the pathway that is clearly a bridle Trail but is also a hikers Trail is the trail you take to see Balanced Rock, an a small cave. Do not take the trail to the right that says foot Trail only this Trail leads to the rock climbing area.
Although I did not repell nor climb and saw nobody else doing so either I did discover an awesome place that seems to flying under the radar based off the lack of ratings/reviews. With the exception of not having a big waterfall and the millions of people that go along, this place basically is as if you took all the other nearby attractions and combined them into one(just condensed in size). This is probably why its perfect location for climbing because it draws a sample of all your different climbing/repelling conditions. Before I go any further and get someone interested in wanting to visit, you need to know this is very rugged terrain and unlike the other attractions no safety precautions have been put in place so its is very dangerous if you are not physically fit, if you are elderly, and if you are not very careful. I would not recommend bring young children, or children that don't listen well here. You must also stay aware of your location because it is very easy to get lost as i did(briefly). There are no trail maps littered every couple hundred yards. With that said, I personally think this place has some of the parks best scenery here at this location if your just willing to search for it. Yeah I forgot to mention there is no dummy proof trails to lead you directly to and from attraction. Yes there are plenty of well traveled trails but its kind of a free-for-all were you go and how you do it. Oh..I almost forgot, if you do plan on climbing or repelling you have to register first by filling out a emergency contact card at the sign when you enter. You be the Judge. Enjoy!!
