My wife and I stayed here for a marriage retreat weekend and when we checked in the room I reserved was not available. Matter of fact we reserved a King Suite with a Beach view and they did not have a single room available with a King bed. So we had to settle for two double beds which was almost an oxymoron because we were here for a Marriage Retreat. Needless to say it did not start off well. I will say this the young woman checking me in tried to accommodate us but the manager would not allow it and she even threw in a coupe of lunches there at the Hilton which was kind but still didn't put me in a bed with my wife.
Upset and angry I didn't really have a choice. So we checked in and settled into our room. Still mad I decide to send Hilton an email and I received an auto response that probably didn't help in the moment. We made the best of it and enjoyed our time together.
The reason I'm giving them a 4 star is because two days after we checked out I received a phone call from their GM Gary. Awesome guy by the way. He gladly listened to what had happened and offered his sincerest apologies. He also gave us a break on our stay which was like icing on the cake. I appreciated the phone call more than anything and Gary allowed us to be wowed by Hilton even after our stay. I wasn't planning on staying at a Hilton ever again but because of Gary I will give it another shot!
Thank you Gary for making our experience better even after we left!
Room was great. TV had extra features so took some learning. Made a reservation at Seagars steakhouse that is part of the hotel. Proper attire was acquired. Tried to reserve over the phone, no one answered and they would call you back. That never happened. Went in person, and the greater was very snooty. So much so that we didn't eat there.
Great location and beach. Hurricane Nate hit while we were here but cleared up in a couple of days. The Beach was back to normal and all was well. Great beach service! We paid $39 for a beach set up that was well worth it. (2 chairs, umbrella and towels). You can buy them cheap at Alvins Island but didn't want to bother carrying them back and forth through the hotel. Drinks and food at beach were very good.
Service was outstanding! Wonderful food and drinks! Resort was well kept. Found the rooms to be slightly outdated at the Hilton location though. The third floor view of the ocean and pool was partially blocked by the roof of the lobby from room 326. Definitely not a deal-breaker though. Staff was courteous and the breakfast was amazing!
Went here for vacation and I will definitely be returning! It is a beautiful resort, with friendly staff, located right on the beach. Cant recommend this place enough. Seriously one of the nicest places I've ever been.
This is a beautiful hotel and MOST of the staff was very friendly but there was a couple circumstances that seriously lowered the 5 star rating I would have given them. I was there during Hurricane Irma and the first incident was when I attempted to extend our stay since our home was in an evacuation zone and we couldn't get home. The lady at the counter attempted to price gouge us. Disgusted we ended up getting a room in another hotel for our last day.
The second was when I witnessed an employee giving a woman with her pet a hard time. The lady was holding her small dog and the employee got onto her about not having it on a leash. He got on the radio instead of simply letting her know the dog needed to be on a leash. The dog probably didn't weigh more than 10 lbs and was curled up in its owners arms.
No sympathy for evacuees and there were many fleeing from the Eastern and Western coastal regions.
Unbelievable experience! Starts with the staff. EVERYONE we encountered was extremely nice and helpful. Front desk was so accommodating and check in was a breeze. Food from room service was top notch and better than most restaurants I've ever been too. Ribeye, pizza and wings were top choices. We will be returning next year!
I'd taken my wife to many other beach resorts, but once we stayed at the Hilton Sandestin, she won't go anywhere else. We've gone at least once a year for the past ten years. Back in October! We've NEVER had a bad experience, the staff is friendly and helpful, the food is always great from any of the restaurants or room service. The beautiful resort has plenty to offer. Wife does the spa, kids love the pools and beach. Get a beachfront balcony and you'll want to extend your stay another week!
Looks can be deceiving! Walked in to check in thought we were getting what we paid for high end resort with amenities WRONG paid $700+ for 3 nights for a run down room with lackluster appliances and a tub that didn't drain!!! Attempted to contact management and NO ONE CARED!! Roaches throughout not only my room but in the halls and elevator! It looked like a rundown old cheap motel!!! DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU GET FULL DISCLOSURE! Was also told we got paddle boards, bikes, and other fun equipment but no. It was a lie! When we asked about it once we had already checked in and gotten charged we were told it was EXTRA! Not what we were told on the phone!
You enter the lobby and feel like you are on vacation, the moment you walk through the door. The restaurants were great but the service was slow. The ambiance makes up for it. Expect resort prices on everything. The pools were good but the beach is stellar. The rooms were big, comfortable and we had an amazing ocean view. The kids loved the bunk beds. This is resort living, you never really have to leave but if you do there is plenty to do.
Clean and family friendly. Beach is beautiful and plenty of things to do in the surrounding area. The staff is definitely seasonal, the way they act and treat guests gives you that impression. Bring your own beach chair as the Hilton charges 30$ a day to use a chair and umbrella. We Made the mistake to visit during spring break and apparently the hotel thinks it's a good idea to schedule large events in there conference areas at the same time, without increasing there staff so the place is a zoo. However Rooms are great as is food. You will enjoy everything if you visit at the right time, just not the cheapest.
I stayed at the Hilton Sandestin with my husband and daughter and it was a wonderful experience. The staff are accomodating and eager to help. I especially would love to give my thanks to Ms.McClure and the whole staff at the sand castles restaurant from day to night they were great and the food is so good the buffet is worth it. The room and overall appearance of the hotel was very clean and the views are stunning. The pool area was nice and it has a great indoor/outdoor pool and a nice hot tub near the beach. We had a great time and we we will be returning.
I cannot tell you what a wonderful place this is. Not only Sandestin, but the Hilton Hotel. The staff there is "beyond" wonderful and I truly believe they enjoy making their guests feel right at home. It's one thing to give great service. It's another thing to really see them enjoying their work. We will be going there for years to come and to be perfectly honest with you.I can't imagine staying anywhere else!
