Clean but the hot tub didn't work for the first 1.5 days. They were friendly. Cabin wasn't secluded like we were told it was

What a GREAT find. The cabins are Five Star, the grounds are beautiful and the Staff could not be any nicer and helpful. If your looking to do any motorcycling in the area this is a great place to call home while on the road

Great location and the cabins are nice but there were a number of issues (which they mostly resolved) and a general lack of attention to details (no grill tools, dirty whirlpool jets, no tongs).

Located 1 mile from I-79, this hideaway is quaint, quiet, and comfortable. A certain "hillbilly charm" as the cabins have everything, but not everything works perfectly. The well water has a sulfur smell, exorcist the hot water. Cabins are cozy. Hot tubs are nice, and, again, have "hillbilly charm.". Very quiet place to relax, see some wildlife, stargaze, have a fire, and relax.

Cabin 6 is third cabin I've rented at Hillbilly Haven, and it is the one I would least recommend. Overall the cabin was clean and well presented, and it had a somewhat private feel to it, even with another cabin down tree road. Negatively, the toilet nook was so small a larger person may not be able to use the toilet at all. I don't blame this on the owners, just informing future guests that may be large sized. Additionally, the shower water in this cabin smelled like rotten eggs. I understand they are on well water, but we didn't have the same issue in the last two cabins we stayed in. So I'm not sure if it's something the owners can fix, or if there was a change in the ground water. Cabin 6 had a hot tub but the jets didn't work while we were here, and we were not able to adjust the temperature or turn on the jets, so it was basically just a hot soaker tub. I would still rent from hillbilly haven in the future but would recommend a cabin other than cabin 6.

This place has a lot of potential, but it is not taken care of properly. We stayed in cabin #5 for 4 days, even though I was debating wether we should just get a hotel when I saw it. The kitchen was so dirty, I was on my hands and knees scrubbing the floor the first night. Fridge wasn't clean. The sheets in the master bedroom had obviously been slept in, so I had to wash them before we slept in them. The toilet still had poop splatter in it, and had urine, hairs and dead bugs on the sides of it. The shower wasn't clean. There's about 5 years worth of dust & cobwebs on most things. There were several cigarette butts and trash on the ground outside.
The dryer is not connected to the vent going outside, there's broken tile in the entryway, and the living room furniture is on its last leg.
Didn't use the hot tub or jacuzzi tub, so can't comment on that.
The road is also very rough and washed out.
