I work for a non profit behavioral and mental health facility and whenever we get a chance to come here with our consumers we do it! The owner and the workers are wonderful and welcome us like family!

I can't believe some folks are upset about the products in the gift shop. With beautiful mountain scenery, awesome caverns, great fishing and top shelf wonderful staffwell, if you come all the way up here just to gift shopya might just be missing the point of it all. Hey, it truly is "Almost Heaven". Enjoy!

Just spent 3 nights in the Smoke Hole cabins in Cabins, WV. Very nice and relaxing. My husband and I fished the streams for a couple of days. Then we finished up our last day with the fishing guide Josh Hedrick. What a blast we had. We fished the streams and ponds on their property. Josh had a great personality. He was fun and knowledgeable. I will have to go back and take some lessons. If you love to fish and relax definitely try the Smoke Hole Cabins and guide Josh.

My husband took me there for a Valentine's day weekend. Everything was wonderful. The cabin was nice and clean. The fire place and jacuzzi were awesome. It was just a short walk to the river.

It was a great place, we had an awesome time. The only problem was the flies. Our cabin was full of them, and it was clearly an ongoing problem because they had fly tape hanging from the ceiling. We killed in excess of 30 them, and there were still more then we could count. We really did have a good time, the flies just really put a damper on it. They were constantly pestering us, landing on us while we slept or ate, etc. Would love to see that be fixed.

What an amazing experience! Best place to stay in west virginia. Very kind staff with hiking trail maps and all other resources you may need while visiting at hand! Awesome gift shop and cute motel!

The caverns are nice and staff is friendly and knowledgeable, but there was a big issue for me. Since this place is located in the mountains of W.V., I was thinking that there should be plenty of gifts in the gift shop that are made right here in the good old U.S.A. However, that is not the case at all. When we realized that EVERYTHING we picked up in the gift shop was "made in china" we opted not to make any purchases and left. If you're looking for American made merchandise this is not the place for you and we will not be back.

Awesome experience. Would recommend to all. Easy walk through the caverns, not too many steps.

Went for a tour of the cavern with the family. It was very interesting. We learned a lot and the kids loved it. For only a couple dollars extra, the kids were able to go "mining" and actually got quite a few nice rocks/gems unlike some other places. Gift shop was obviously overpriced but the people were friendly and our tour guide was great.

Beautiful cavern with very friendly and knowledgeable tour guides. Only complaint is the pond inside cavern where fish are kept smells like a dirty turtle tank from old fish food. Otherwise it has huge souvenir store, clean facilities, and a cute little putt putt and gym mining setup outside.

We stayed in one of the honeymoon cabins. It was clean and comfortable. Very simple but cozy. The grounds we're well kept. The amenities were nice and easily accessible. Everyone was always friendly and accommodating. We have no complaints. Cell service here is spotty with limited data access when you do get service but we found it was this way everywhere in the area. My only suggestion would be that maybe the resort could offer a cable modem for Wi-Fi. It wasn't a big problem for us so we will definitely be returning again soon. Loved our stay here!!!

Janet was a great hostess and our cabin was spotlessly cleaned every day. This area of West Virginia is a motorcyclists dream and Cabins is a great central location to ride out in different directions each day. I also love to hike and next time plan on spending more time so I can hike at Seneca Rocks or Dolly Sods!!

Smoke Hole Caverns is a true example of living history. The tour guides do their best to make the stone come to life and tell the cave's story. The tour is worth the price of admission.
