You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig. This place is the "evolved" Expressions of Boone, Kenneth Gottfried's brain child, his glorified flea market of overpriced Chinese fluff. The man that never found a corner he couldn't cut or a penny he couldn't pinch. His get rich quick scheme in a nice college town and sadly, it worked. With a fresh batch of unsuspecting students every year there's an untapped gold mine of misguided yet optimistic young people hopeful that the country will progress and the laws will change. Not with businesses like this in place.
The business was bought out and underwent a massive makeover but they kept all the same employee's. Like shuffling the chairs on the Titanic, not really solving the problem of this sinking ship of bad ideas. Awful attitudes bordering on pretentious who act like they can't be bothered or helpful.
Boone had a really nice shop, SoulShine Family Glass, but sadly they closed. The business of functional glass has changed for the better. We are more connected than ever before. Do your homework and explore your options online. Buy directly from your favorite artist or find a shop with some integrity that supports talented artists. Let this shop and all the other mediocre North Carolina head shops that do everything in their power to keep prohibition in place get swept up in the tides of change and forgotten about in the dustbin of history.response / report this review -

Every time I go to high life I have a great experience. The store is always organized and everything is displayed perfectly. Customer service is fantastic here. Every time I walk in someone greets me and everyone is very knowledgeable on glass pipes. Now they also have a great e cig selection and candles and inscents. Favorite smoke shop by far!:)

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GRADE A+ QUALITY PIERCER, LOOK NO FURTHER. There's a lot of things i absolutely love about this shop. The owners are super nice and great conversationalist, they are the most genuine shop owners I've ever met who aren't out to get your money and make your presence feel appreciated. The jewelry and other items are pricey but for the type of material they are selling, it's super cheap! But what brought me to writing this review was the piercer. Erin is so fantastic and I'm blessed to have her as a local piercer, I have went to piercing shop after piercing shop to get my nose pierced and every single time my nose has rejected the piercing. i've had my nose pierced a total of four times, and this previous fourth time was my final time thanks to her! Erin pierced my nose one time before and although it rejected it, she was ready to try a new technique when I decided to come back and try getting it pierced one more time. I've had the stud in for almost 7 months, trouble free!! THANK YOU!!!

Went in yesterday
Customer service was rad, i was helped first by a girl in training who was friendly and then by the manager who was extremely sociable in the best of ways, knew what he was talking about, and was very friendly. Basically, you can tell the employees enjoy their jobs and that improved my customer experience big time.
The manager was very honest, took his time showing me different items and explaining them, and in the end I was very happy with my purchase.response / report this review -

Got pierced her by Eric a couple weeks ago, and she is amazing! I had the same piercing done at another place a couple months ago and was nervous to get it done again. She was very comforting and knowledgeable. Will certainly go back for any other piercings
