Very nice course. Very good conditions. Not the hardest I've ever played,
but in the top five. Fore-caddie was a former professional golfer and was just excellent with yardages and reading greens and everything. Food was excellent- bartender was excellent. All the staff were excellent. Price was high but not unexpected, as it is on all top courses. I have one complaint. From the time I called to make my tee time, while I paid my greens fees, or anytime until I got to the first tee, nobody mentioned it was cart-path only. Then at the first tee, starter says it is ALMOST ALWAYS cart-path only. I think when you call in that fact should be mentioned and again when you check-in. I have no idea if you can walk this course because that option was never given. Great place- but they gotta get their act together on this cart-path only most of the time. They gotta tell you before you tee off and present the options, if any.

Really fabulous service and great food! My wife is vegan and I'm gluten free and they were very accommodating to us in every way.

Played here on 10/5/2017. The course conditions and amenities were top notch. Personnel were very helpful. As far as the course layout, it was average. There are better tracks in the Carolina's (even on Hilton Head/Bluffton) for that matter. It seems it is all about the hype of hosting a PGA tour event. 16, 17, and 18 are nice holes, but the rest of the course in average. Would never pay the $400 asking price to play it again.

It's a Pete Dye masterpiece and they keep the course in immaculate condition. You play with a fore-caddy so it's nice because you don't have to look for you ball if you miss it into any of the majestic tree lined fairways.

Great day on fabulous golf course. Better hit it straight because tight fairways and smaller greens.

Terrific golf course. Difficult but also very fun to play. Service is absolutely wonderful, and the caddies are both knowledgeable and helpful! Only downside is it'll take a big hit on your wallet so don't play it if it's going to rain heavily so that you can get all the holes in!

Great golf course. Tight golf course that is well-maintained and fun to play. They require you to have a forecaddie with each group which is really nice to have them give yardages and tell you where to hit it.

Terrific, challenging layout. If you aren't hitting it straight it will probably be a long day. There are a number of memorable holes. Currently in the best condition I have ever seen it. Great, welcoming staff.

Host to the PGA tour Event the Heritage. If you get a chance to play, give it a go. Pricey to play with a cart considering you are required tot take a four caddy. Some holes are cart path only. I walked the back nine. Caddy knowledge is above average. The views are terrific and the sun sets in the evening over 18. Bucket list.

This is a beautiful golf course with all the amenities you would expect, including caddies, or carts (take a caddie and walk this beautiful course). Be prepared for a challenging yet pleasant day on the course as you weave through the trees, out to the sound and navigate the very small greens. Always in pristine condition, and now better after the full remodel by Davis Love in 2015/2016.
