This was a totally awesome experience! The horses are so well cared for! You can feel how much these people love the horses & enjoy giving you a great experience! It's like the horses know how much they are loved & cared for!! They do a fantastic job at matching your personality with the horse!! Can't say enough about them & I have ridden at numerous places, they told them all!!

A family run business where the family made us feel right at home. Very laid back and polite. It was my first time horse back riding and the family did a great job giving an overview. They offer many different ride lengths and trails for different types of riders. Kids are welcome here as well. Overall great experience and I will be returning next time I'm in the area.

Happy Trails horseback riding is a really nice day trip located almost in the center of the state of Ohio. There are a variety of tour options from very short to rather long. There are also a variety of paths depending upon the experience level of each rider.
Calling ahead and making a reservation is the best option. Happy Trails does accept credit cards so you can book over the phone.
Parking is convenient and located immediately around the bunkhouse. The staff are all family members of the Happy Trails ownership team and they are knowledgeable about each of the horses, the preferences of the horses, and their care.response / report this review -

I have to admit, when we pulled up I was a little worried but the day turned out to be a top 10 day. We took a three hour ride and was able to see many different sights. Charlie did a wonderful job and was friendly during the ride. The horses we rode were very well mannered and seemed to enjoy the ride also.

My fiance & our daughter had an amazing time last Sunday at Happy Trails!!! When you first drive up it looks run down but do not let that fool you!!! Horses & the people running Happy Hills are amazing!!! I have had bad experiences at other trail riding establishments & was nervous! Once on the trail the staff & the horse put my mind to ease!!! It was such an amazing experience for our whole family & we will definitely be going back!!! They continously work with the horses & care for them a great deal!!! The staff are wonderful!!! I highly, HIGHLY recommend!!!

Me and a few family and friends enjoyed every minute of our experience here. Pete and Charlie were great and kept us entertained the entire ride. The horses were wonderful and it ended up being a lot better than I thought it would be! Will definitely be returning and recommending this place to friends and family!

I came to Happy Trails to ride a horse for the first time. The youthful staff members were very unprofessional and rude. Because this was my first time riding a horse, I specifically asked not to be in the back of the line (there were four of us in my group). Of course, they put me at the back of the line against my wishes and then said it was because of the horse they assigned me. Why couldn't they just assign me a different horse?? Then, the horse that they brought out for me was missing one of his front shoes. The horse was practically limping and imbalanced. They told me it would be fine and that I just needed to let the horse know that I was in control. Because the trail was very muddy and hilly, I objected and demanded that they give me a different horse, not just for my sake but for the poor horse's as well. They initially lied and said that they didn't have any other horses, even though there were clearly other horses in the stall. They finally agreed to switch me when I said that I'd rather cancel my ride than continue with that horse. When one of the workers, who was clearly annoyed, proceeded to help me off of the horse so that I could switch, he intentionally tried to make me step in horse poop when I jumped down. He didn't succeed but he tried it!
Needless to say, this was a terrible first horseback riding experience. I paid for an hour, but it wasn't even close to a full hour ride. They don't seem like they care about the horses, the cleanliness of the facility, or about good customer service. I hate to make it a racial thing, but I was the only non-white person in my group and I was clearly the target of their rude, unprofessional behavior. There are plenty of other places in Ohio to horseback ride. I don't recommend Happy Trails, and I suggest that you spend your money elsewhere.response / report this review -

I have nothing but positive things to say about this place! Very laid back employees but also very professional. The gift shop was adorable. Staff was amazing with my nervousness and even better with my 7yr old niece. They made her early birthday present a memorable one! The tour was beautiful and informative. They paired the horses and the riders up very well. Olivia and I plan on doing this every year for her birthday. Thank you!!!

Highly recommend!! Beautiful scenery, good horses, very reasonable rates, we will definitely be coming back here. Our guide Jason, was the perfect mix of quiet while we enjoyed the scenery and knowledge of the landmarks he took us to.
