Nice hotel for a sorry stay seemed a bit rundown for a Hilton. The location was not to great either.
I like this Hampton Inn. Very convenient to Alexandria and metro station. In addition, the hotel provides free shuttle service to downtown Alexandria and train station. Whenever I travel to DC I stay there.
I want to thank the staff for such a wonderful trip. We came to go to the MGM Grand and spent two nights at this wonderful hotel. From the moment we stepped into a Lobby they were attentive and made sure that our stay was the most enjoyable.
In need of renovation, luckily hotel is under repairs. My a/c heater unit sounded like a loud Ford Pinto idling with a bad belt. At one point I had to repair the toilet by removing the lid and fixing the chain. The room was clean, but worn. Breakfast was good. Staff was great as always.
A little noisy due to be so close to interchange of several major roads, but the rooms are good. Beds and pillows are comfortable and shower is strong. Free shuttle to/from Metro. Would stay again.
Super comfortable beds with premium blankets. Soft lighting and a spacious bathroom. If you're visiting for business then this is a great place to stay. Quiet enough to get some work done on your laptop. Great food options close by.
Very good place to stay! Family friendly and great staff! They were a bit busy when we came and we were still well accommodated other than they could use a few more tables for the free breakfast, which was also great!
Everything was 1st class from picking us up from the metro. To checking in a little early, Clean rooms. To a fabulous breakfast buffet that never ran out of anything that was open from 6am to 10am. The staff kept constantly stocked. Every day there was a different main course every day. The staff was very pleasant. We had a Great stay would highly rerecommend this Place .
While the hotel is a decent distance from DC, the hotel provides a shuttle to the metro and Old Town, so getting to any point of interest is fairly simple. They provide breakfast, which is nice. The rooms were what you would expect out of a hotel in this price range. They were clean and the pillows are pretty great.
Too many "small things" added up during our five night stay at thus hotel to be able to give more than 2 stars. As for the list of small things;
1) a bag from the Hard Rock Cafe which held a t-shirt my son purchased for his girlfriend came up missing from our room. Perhaps honest mistake by cleaning staff however I am suspicious. The General Manager did attempt to "make right" however far from value of shirt + "emotional cost" of high school boy buying a special gift for this girlfriend,
2) for the cost week of June the weather was in the 80'sgreat pool weather right? Nope! Water temperature never exceeded 64 degreesF,
3) the hot water recirculation pump for our room must have issuesit took 4 minutes of running water to get actual hot water,
4) no exahast fan in bathroom When inquiring at front desk they stated it was just a vent to the roof. Not good for a family of 4 taking showers let alone wafting toilet odors,
5) although the hotel does have a shuttle service, nearly all of the drivers either fail to recognize STOP signs or blatantly ignore them. I do not recall coming to a complete stop at any intersection with a stop sign. ALL STOP SIGNS WERE TREATED AS YIELD SIGNS!
Being a Hilton Honors member I am quite disappointed at the "small things" which quickly added up at this particular hotel something most Hilton hotels typically excel in avoiding.
Additionally, this hotel has in the past treated our middle school's annual trip to DC. I am not sure my wife, who is a teacher/chaperone for this trip will be able to ignore the "small things" we encountered on our trip when she is asked by her teacher friends how our trip went.
To be fair, the hotel was clean, staff were quite curious, breakfast was to-do (nothing to write home about), and there were delicious cookies available to guests after supper time.
Good luck with your stay here. I truly hope my experience is unique but I felt as though as much as I have come to rely on such reviews I felt compelled to write one myself.
I went to go check there available rooms for a wedding even and I would have to say the employees that helped me were very helpful and nice and very clean place. Great location.
The location is convenient to Alexandria, Pentagon, Reagan National. The rooms and breakfast buffet are typical for a Hampton Inn, which is to say just fine. The Hilton digital key feature is offered here, so skip the front desk check in and go straight to your room.
Really comfortable and modern hotel, with lots of nice free perks, such as a shuttle bus to the nearest metro station. The only small complaint I have is that the cleaning staff were excessively noisy in the corridor adjacent to the room, at a time too early in the morning.
