Friendly service, great environment, creative hairdressers.
Hair International was my place for all the preparation (spray tan, waxing, nails) and day of (mine and my bridemaids' hair and makeup) for my wedding. I loved that I could get everything done at one place instead of going to a separate salon/spa/nail studio/tanning place/etc. They also had packages for all the services I wanted. Everyone there was so helpful and nice. We had the place pretty much to ourselves on the day of, and they even brought in champagne, orange juice, and muffins for us. Shout out to Jenni (waxing), Sheila (nails), Kelly and Pam (bridesmaid hair) for a great job! And special thanks to the two ladies who spent the most time with me prepping for the big day - Cara (tanning/lashes) and Elaina (bridal hair/makeup)! Everyone looked so beautiful! Thanks!
Love Hair International Day Spa! I recently had a facial here and it was one of the best I've ever had! The esthetician was incredibly knowledgeable and offered tons of wisdom that really helped with my skincare routine! They offer tons of other serviceswaxing, massage, mani/pedi, hair.. everything is great! The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting and the staff is always so helpful.
See Jessica. She is great!
Lavonne for Brazilian wax - Lavonne does a GREAT job with Brazilian waxes. I had tried at least 4 different places for a Brazilian wax since coming to Bloomington and until I went to Lavonne I hadn't found anyone that I was happy with. Lavonne is quick, professional, a perfectionist about removing all the hair, and doesn't cause unnecessary amounts of pain (though, let's face it, what Brazilian wax is pain-free?).
Their pedicures are so amazing, took care of my swollen prego feet better than massages I had.
great for haircuts too.
Hair International sells top quality products, which gives the false impression that this salon is top-notch. However, it's stylists are unprofessional.
I saw Patty Lewis for a hair cut and color. I was explicit in telling her that I wanted her to take off no more than an inch and a half of my bicep-length hair. She took off five full inches, leaving my hair above my shoulders for the first time in three years.
I told her that I wanted absolutely no gold tones in my ash dark blonde hair color, because my hair easily picks up gold. She insisted (at which point I wish that I had walked out) on putting in gold. Sure enough, my hair turned golden, and she tried to dye it once again, with no success. I left that day in tears, with hair that was three different colors in the sunlight--red, blonde, and a weird mix that appeared orange.
The owner attempted to fix it (gratis) after I called to complain, but was only marginally successful with repairing the color; nothing, of course, could restore my hair length.
Also, Patty dropped the names of other clients, including high administrators at IU, giving out details of information they had said to her. It was extraordinarily unprofessional. If you value your privacy, or value a stylist who listens to you, avoid Hair International at all costs!
