Had a very pleasant experience here thanks to Greg in service. Really went above and beyond of what was expected. Kind, funny, and always available big S/O to Greg!

I just went in to get my car serviced, and Chris helped me out so much. He was very knowledgeable and thorough when helping me with my car. I won't have my car serviced anywhere else! Chris really was great and helpful! It's nice to fully trust in the person working on your car. I wish I could give him more then 5 stars!

    Fantastic Service.
Chris in service did an amazing job helping me out. I needed to get an oil change and I dont tend to go to dealerships because of how poor my past experience use to be with the other service people. Chris made everything very clear and got straight to the point. He was quick and made me feel like I belonged. I will definitely report back for any other service needs. Chris did a fantastic job! Thank you!!

First time ever purchasing a Volkswagen and what a great dealership to work with! Sandi was awesome, I couldn’t have asked for a better salesmen and Jason the general manager was great as well. They are so friendly and really took care of me! I highly recommend this dealership!!

The people were friendly and knowledgeable. I think my oil change could have been a little faster (it took an hour and a half), but overall the people were so kind it didn’t really matter. I also learned some knew information about my vehicle I did not even know prior, just from chatting it up with one of their sales people. Definitely appreciate my car a little more walking out of there.

I ended up here purely by accident. However I am glad I did. I found exactly what I wanted, a 2015 diesel (model didn't matter), and got fantastic financing and prompt friendly service. Ozzy is fantastic and a pleasure to purchase from.

The one drawback was a mysterious call a week later from the finance manager saying there was an error on my sales contract, which no one was really able to explain. Literally, no one could give me a straight answer as to what was wrong, which was really frustrating. It turned out to have an extra signature where it shouldn't have been, which they directed me to sign at. They were insistent upon me coming back to the dealership instead of say, sending me the documents via FedEx since it takes me nearly 2hrs to drive up there. On a Friday night I went 3.5hrs out of my way because of their error. They offered nothing to apologize besides a seemingly insincere "Sorry".

The takeaway is double check your documents before leaving the dealership. Everything with the exception of the final financing documents was amazing, but making me drive so far out of my way for an error they caused without any apologies or way to compensate really was anger inducing and frustrating, hence the 3 stars instead of 5.

*Update - After replying to Miguel via email, it's been almost a week without a response. I assume their replies on here are purely for show, and they have no intention of actually resolving the issue. Hence why now 2 stars instead of 5*

Normally this dealership does outstanding work, but today I took my Passat in for 20k mileage service and it failed the wheel alignment. They did not call me or inform me about the results until I saw the paperwork in my car. If they would have called I would have had them fix the alignment so my car would actually be safer on the road. Now I have to once again schedule another appointment and take time to deal with this issue. Thanks for not being efficient!!!

Excellent customer service. The staff was fantastic in the service department regarding communication. I was one of the first to have my Volkswagen emissions modification done. The Gurnee location was the only dealership ready to perform the changes. Overall very satisfied.

Only have owned the car for a week when my tire pressure light came on one Saturday afternoon. Remembering that I have coverage on my tires (and surprised that I would be experiencing this so early after buying the car) I drove to the Service department.
I with Angel & even though I had to wait a few hours (after all it was a Saturday) there was coffee (yesss!) & a vending machine for a quick snack. They checked the tire (it was low but no flat) & also checked the pressure on the other 3 & sent me on my way - NO CHARGE!! 👍🏼

I am reviewing the service I received. I just went in for an oil change and tire rotation. I was told a mechanic just got freed up and he would take my car right away. That it would take an hour. 2.5 hours later I inquired on the status of my car. They told me and another customer that had also been waiting close to 3 hours that our cars were being towel dried and it would be 5 or 10 minutes more. 20 minutes later I inquired again and I was told by the very nice receptionist that she was told it would be done by now. She offered to get the service manager for me to talk to. She paged the manager but he never bothered to come to the lounge to talk to me. She then talked to another manager that didn't talk to me but got the woman from Service that checked my car in. She told me that washing the car was taking an unusual amount of time and that was what the hold up was. She also said the paper work was printing out wrong as it was charging me too much for what I had done. All in all I was there for 2 hours and 50 minutes when I was told it would be an hour. Everyone, especially the receptionist was very nice but I just got off a 4x24 hour shift and wanted to go home and sleep. I wouldn't of minded so much if I was told upfront how long it would take. I bought my car from this dealership and was repeatedly lied to. I have always had a good experience with the service dept however but every time I have dealt with the assistant manager Michael. I wasn't even told the truth when they told me the car would be ready in 5 to 10 minutes. People want to know what to expect. Telling them what they want to hear in this situation is bad customer service. How inconvenient it may be, I may just have to start going to a different dealership for service. My time is just as valuable as everyone else's.

My experience at Rohrman Volkswagen in Gurnee was overall unpleasant.

I'll start by saying Katrina, the salesperson I worked with, did an excellent job. She listened to what I was looking for and was very accomodating the whole time I was there.

After having been there for a couple of hours, my fiance and I wanted a bite to eat, and Katrina pointed us to a nearby fast-food place. I was about to pull out, and the head of sales (I believe that was his position) came running out and told me not to leave, but instead come upstairs to the break room and have some pizza. It was cold from lunchtime, but they had a microwave. So we're upstairs in the breakroom eating our reheated pizza, and we are surrounded by 5 people from the team - Katrina (who mostly stayed quiet during this encounter), Dave the finance guy, the head of sales, the man in charge of used car sales, and another gentleman (I can't remember exactly what he was in charge of, but like Katrina, he was also pretty pleasant most of the time).

I had some concerns about the car I was considering buying, and we talked through some of them, but the whole time I felt like I was being swarmed by a team who was more interested in making a sale than in earning the loyalty of a customer. A couple of times during the conversation, I got the impression that my concerns were either irrelevant, or a waste of their time, even to the point where they were trying to lay a guilt trip on me for expressing my concerns. Ultimately they made the sale, but they have lost a potential future customer.

I've purposely waited a couple of weeks before writing this review because I wanted to have a little time away and try to be as fair as possible. I went to Rohrman because I've seen the commercials for decades, and I figured he must be doing something right to have been around so long. Maybe this experience was an anomoly, or maybe it's the Rohrman sales philosophy, I don't really know; but I can definitely say I'm not going to go back and find out one way or the other.

One of the most unpleasant experiences I've had at a car dealership. Aaron, the service manager had the most unhospitable attitudes which only added to my discomfort taking my car to the dealer. Not only did it take over a week to get a new key, the cashier rung me out for twice the amount and took 4 people to resolve the problem. So I was at Volkswagen for over 3 hours getting a new key programmed, treated disrespectfully, and when asked what the issue was get a response from the cashier saying she wasn't trained for this position. Which makes me wonder why they were the only one at the counter. As a small business owner I would have done something to compensate the customer but apparently they don't hold the same family values as my own. Will not be returning and won't even consider another VW in my future.

It's always one thing after another with the Gurnee VW service department. You here a different story depending on who you talk to in the service department and each time the cost to get anything done well exceeds anything reasonable. I have had one particular issue on my VW Golf that they have never been willing or able to complete. Their attention to service and any kind of expediency is also poor at bestcalls to the service department are not answered and messages not returned. This is not a company that considers customers their lifesource - thus, do yourself a favor as I am now doing and seek out another location for any work on your VW.

I would give 6 stars if I could! On September 5 2016 we bought an Excursion. Our salesman Bill Price was patient, and his no-pressure laid back approach was ideal for us. We had our infant daughter along, way past bedtime and screaming through the entire test drive. Bill was totally laid back and helpful, we felt nothing but honest good vibes from him. When we got to the money part, there were some negotiations of course. Both Bill and Frank worked with us and were very honest in the valuation of our trade in. They went the extra mile to be sure we were happy with our final out the door price. There were no tactics or gimmicks, and we appreciated that honest approach more than we can express! Oh, and I should definitely add that from our initial phone call to Steve before heading down to Gurnee, we felt in-contact and very welcomed. Steve answered many of our questions before we even got there. Another great guy! Honestly the Finance guy and the cashier (so sorry we can't remember your names!) were great too. All around awesome experience, we highly recommend Gurnee Volkswagen!!!

I do not recommend dealing with these people, they put up a friendly face when you're looking to buy and as soon as you buy the car you start receiving bills from various services that they've signed you up for. When I called to ask why they had shared my information with all the third party companies they just denied it and hung up. I have since tried to reach their management team with no success. Now we have to contact all these companies and ask them to stop bugging us. These are a bunch of liars and thieves at VW Gurnee - do not do business with them!
