Drove 50 minutes after a phone conversation to look at a car which I was told was in very good condition and had no issues other than a little missing clear coat on the hood. When I got there, Brent's statements about the car were completely false. It had a cracked bumper, rust, strip falling from around the windows, and that's with only one walk around the car. My trust in this dealership is completely gone because of falsely representing the car in conversation. Thankful I've never purchased a car from this place. If the visible is all lies, I'd hate to think what the mechanical would be.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I called at 10 in the morning before driving 4 hours to their location. The quote on quote manager of the lot told me the car I was looking to buy was there. After wasting my gas and time and getting there I speak to the same guy who I spoke to on the phone. He's says oh I have bad news for ya, the cars distributor was stolen last night!! I said ok where's the car, I want to see it. He gives me the run around and says oh the car is at our other lot. After a 5 min drive to the other lot I encounter another clueless manager. Then all of a sudden he says oh the 1997 Honda Accord 5 speed green was stolen almost a year ago.! I'm asking him so why the fuck is the car still online if it's been stolen for a year? This guy didn't have any answer for me. He also said that the other manager is the thief lol shows you what kind of business their running. I went back to the first lot furious. I asked why he had lied to me about the distributor being stolen lol instead of telling me the whole car isn't available. At that he lied to me on the phone that the vehicle was there, I Drove 4 fucking hours there to come across a bunch idiots who snitch each other out. And blatantly lie to customers. This dude tried to switch it up on me telling me he thought I came for a 98 Accord when clearly it was the 97 Accord I was specifically looking for. Drove 4 hours back to my destination w a bad attitude and furious I couldn't do anything about my lost time and gas+tolls. I then asked him who's the boss. The owner Mr. Arney, your dealership is trash, cars looked like they have been sitting there rotting for years. Also, your daughter isn't slick giving you 5 Stars. NOBODY should EVER EVER consider this place. Garbage vehicles garbage people and a bunch of liars. Sad SMH I don't know how this place is still up and running. But no wonder employees are paid $4 an hour because you can't SELL shit there. Close that shit down 👎🏽✌🏽They're literally trash!
Dont buy crappy cars all from dump!!!
Granite motors is the most corrupt dealership in the hickory area. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! I wasn't an employee at any of them, however I chilled with my boyfriend Jake, who was an employee at the Longview lot. I should have been paid because when Nathan Arney came in there, he started ordering me around telling me to take out his trash, mop the floors, among other things that a janitor does. He also decided to talk all kinds of junk to me about my boyfriend while he was outside. He claims in his sales pitches that "all the cars are fine, and run really well," BULL!. Most of the cars on those lots didn't even start, let alone run. My boyfriend was promised 150 a week plus commission and he worked there a week and a half. Do the math, he was making the equivalent of 4.15 an hour, which isn't even minimum wage And to top that off, his pay was extremely short. He got paid 150$ after 40+ hours of work and after he was promised the commission on a 95 Ford Explorer. Needless to say, he quit. Also, the mechanic that worked there for 2+ weeks was promised 15 an hour and to work on cars. When he got paid, his check was 68$ for 2 weeks of work When he asked why his paycheck wasn't right, Nathan claimed that he wasn't paying him to work on cars, he was paying him to FIX the cars. Well you can't fix most of those cars, most of them belong in a junkyard. We had one car blow up ON THE LOT! Just trying to move it into a parking spot. Nathan Arney is only out to screw people. I can't count the number of people I've just been having a casual conversation with out in public and somebody they know or them personally, has been screwed by granite motor company. The people I've met said that the car either blew within a week or had major issues causing them to have to get another new vehicle. I love how in this businesses reviews there is one by a Danielle Arney saying that it's a great place and gave it 5 stars Wow, come on It's bad when the only good review on this business is a family member of the owner, NATHAN ARNEY. There was a man that came in the other day and he was overdue on his payment, well he said that he had tried to come up and pay it the day that it was due, however nobody was there Now he's looking at having to pay 2 months worth of car payments and a 2 dollar a day late fee, which is probably the equivalent of that man whole paycheck, all because Nathan Arney is a money hungry individual who cares about nobody except himself. Trust me, DONT GO THERE!
I was recently an employee at Granite motors on the Longview lot. This will be long. I joined on as a salesman on Thursday, September 15, 2016. I was promised 150 a week plus commission, which after 46 hours a week comes to about $4.15 an hour, far below minimum wage. I personally dealt with almost every car on the lot to be able to tell you that more than half of them won't even START, let alone run. Tires are cracked and dry rotted, batteries are dead or missing, they have antifreeze leaks, some have severe water damage, missing panels, I even had a car blow up on me just trying to back it in a parking space. The FEW decent cars he has are highly overpriced and if it looks affordable, you'll be lucky to make it a week off the lot. When your car inevitably breaks down, guess what? It's on you. Avoid this business like the plague. Nathan Arney, the owner, will down talk his employees behind their back, insult his customers when they aren't looking, and he literally goes out of his way to screw everyone. I don't have solid proof but it appears that he is either embezzling or laundering money. I quit on Saturday, September 24, 2016, after he gave me my first check of $150, which should have been at least $300. His mechanic was promised $15/hour and received a check for less than $70 for 2 weeks work, claiming he didn't pay his to work on cars, he pays him to fix them. My girlfriend brought me lunch one day and he cussed her out, then told her to mop his floor! She doesn't even work for him! Every customer that walked in could tell me how badly they had been screwed by his business. Nathan Arney doesn't care about anyone but himself, this "business" doesn't even have a valid business license, it expired last year! His bookkeeping is a joke. If you pay your payment he might not even credit you for it, then you'll be getting your car repossessed, you'll STILL owe on it, and you won't even have a car. Stay away, close this scam shop down! Oh, and of course, that ONE 5 star review is Bs. Daniel Arney? Nathan Arney. That's his family trying to boost rep, NOBODY has come away for the better from this business.
Has nothing but junk that he patches up and tries to sell with large down payments. So that way when you bring it back he's got a nice chunk of change. I bought a truck and the day after I got it the power steering fluid was leaking. I took it back to them and they said they would fix it. They sent me home with a bottle of transmission fluid to make due until they could get the parts. The first time I took it to them they got the wrong parts. They told me they was getting a new steering box for the truck. The next time I took it back to them to fix it they told me they got the parts off of a junk yard.
Even after all this the truck was still leaking power steering fluid. They said they would replace the hoses. Well they kept swearing the hose they was getting wrong and sent me with the truck to the parts store. They gave me the same "wrong" one. Turns out the guy that was putting it on didn't know what he was doing. Because the second guy that they got to look at it found the leak and replaced the hose with that "wrong" one. Well we finally got that straight and the whole time this was going on the truck would take spells where it wouldn't start and finally got to where it wouldn't crank for me and blew a fuse. Then the transmission started slipping. I just said screw it and gave them the truck back. When they came and got it they had to come out twice. After replacing the fuse it took them 45 minutes to get the truck to start. I doubt they did anything to fix the truck and just put it back on the lot to find the next sucker. I say this because the truck was back on the lot quick. Another word they like to throw around during the sales pitch is rebuilt. I think every car on the lot has had the engine rebuilt in it. Very shady business practices as well wouldn't surprise me if he would get a cluster out of a lower mileage vehicle and put it in a higher mileage one. Of course I have no proof of this but the owner just seems like that type of guy.
