I have always supported local where I could, and it is very nice to have these guys here in Allendale. While they are totally geared for the outdoorsman, they have a decent selection for the major sports as well. They have an indoor archery range attached too! One thing is for certain, when it comes to anything archery, these guys know their stuff.
A very good pro shop, and very helpful I will do business with them.
Great Place. Got my crossbow shooting a lot quieter and still dead nuts on.
Awesome guys fixes both of my cross bows while i waited will be back worth the drive from muskegon
I live approximately 55 minutes away from Grandvalley Sports with several other options I could pick to do business with much closer but the reality of it is they know bows and have consistent bow technicians that are very helpful and knowledgeable. It's worth the 70 extra minutes of drive time.

These guys are Top notch, yes they do call when your bow is finished, in an hour and a half
Have been going hear for 7years.always a nice welcome, with a smile on there faces.Gary,Vern,Matt,Jon are very professional and always find time to help you out with my issues with my bow.never put people down on there preferred choices.. Always a great visit, even when they are buisy..👍
Well, I've been checking out a particular model of Jackson Kayak. Went in on April 8th, spoke with Matt and John, who advised the 2016 model was 15% off. Today I went in for the kayak and someone else told me that Matt and John were wrong, it's not 15% off.
Last year when I was frequenting Grand Valley Sporting Goods, I inquired to take a kayak out to try it before I decide on it. Grand Valley Sporting Goods said no problem, we'll have John call you to set up an appointment to take it out for a try. I never received a call from John. Obviously I'm not meant to buy a kayak from Grand Valley Sporting Goods and will take my business elsewhere. I'll never step foot in this store again as there are other Jackson Kayak dealers in Michigan. I'd rather drive to Kayak Corral or Newaygo to buy a kayak then give my money to GV Sporting Goods.
After buying a bow from them I went in to get some tuning done, and without question, it was the best 1 1/2 hours of time I have ever spent learning about my bow. Been to all the shops in the grand rapids area in the last few years, done alot of shooting also. For the past 2 years I have been shooting the same arrows, without any problems. Or so I thought. After spending some time today, I found out I was heavily over spined, and changing to a different arrow completely transformed my shooting for the better. Can't say enough good things about the professionalism, patience and knowledge. If you ever need tuning done, these are the only guys you need to see. Thanks again GVSG!!
I've lived in Grand Rapids all my life, know most of the guys at most of the pro shops w/in 50 miles (we are blessed with some great local businesses) and Gary and the whole staff at Grand Valley sports give the best value, the best service and know their products inside and out. ZERO pressure and they needed more patience than my wife, the first time I purchased a bow from them has brought me back over and over. I'm extremely picky and extremely loyal to those who provide WOW service, product knowledge and support. I'll go to the big box stores to look around at stuff, game mounts and buy fudge, but bring me to Grand Valley when I'm spending my hard earned money and make sure I'm getting the right product for me!
This shop is only getting one star from me cause they had the bow I was looking for. I had them set it up ie the hdx rest, peep, and sight. They did good on my sight. But pretty simple. Now let's tlk bout the other two. The peep would not stop line up straight. They pulled the some of one color string to the black color side and called it good. Ya this is an old school trick but with a new bow u want your wrk to look clean not scaby. But they tied it in. They set the rest. I went in and picked it up and asked to have it paper tuned so I knew it was done right. Vern helped on this and he put the paper in front of me and walked away. No help at all. Ud think for someone to buy a whole bow set up ud get better service. Anyway I had a tare low. So they moved my rest dwn. And that caused me to have a steep angle of my arrow while nicked. "Not good" and they sent me on my way.
I took it to my local archery guy (forgot to mention I drove 2 1/2 hrs to get this bow) and he had to start the whole bow set up from the beginning.
I do not recommend letting these guys wrk on ur stuff. Horrible service in person and they are not very professional in my opinion.
Incredibly helpful shop. Vern was extremely knowledgable and very nice to work with. Left feeling confident about my bow set up.
