NYS museum is fun and highly educational place. It has the added benefit of a children's zone for Science and Technology that is Interactive and loads of fun. Bring the kids and plan to stay the afternoon because there is plenty to do and see.

This is an amazing place to visit. This entire plaza look stunning: a huge water pool in the center of the plaza, a historical and modern buildings across the water, a futuristic Egg - all of those make a statement. An observation deck is a bit hidden from the public eye but the view is great nevertheless.

Spent a couple hours checking out the public art sculptures and monuments on the Plaza for a school project but could easily have stayed all day. They are all so interesting and different. Will be back soon.

Sterile and vapid. The only thing that you can get is missing from this list cold, fortifying, I've never been messing up my mind good like this. Same old same old. Samurai warriors do not go here. Albany died for your plaza, bulldozers and modern art.

Great place and museum. There's a good exhibition on the 911 tragedy and good information on New York state. Best thing is that's it's complimentary. Great place to bring kids to learn about the state history. Beautiful architecture and easily accessible from the city. Some great view of Albany.

Great place for a walk in any season. The most picturesque state office campus in NY. Park and walk to the Egg, State museum, the observation deck of the Corning tower, and the many fine eateries in the surrounding area.

Great place to get outside and meet new people. Within walking distance from the NYS Museum and the WW2 memorial. There are free concerts and events held here in the summer with local vendors.

Interesting Plaza. I'm not a big fan of modern architecture and this place has a lot of it. Looks like a scene from Judge Dredd film or Soviet block capitol. The bright spot is the early American capitol building.

A must visit for the tourists. Being the capital of New York, Albany doesn't have much to offer, but this museum and state capitol area is worth visiting. One can sit down, relax and enjoy the architecture and calmness. Not much crowded and good for jogging and meditation too.

One of the best places in the Capital Region to bring a kid with a scooter to ride. The stairs to the museum make for a great workout. Their summer farmer's market and music series are phenomenal. The architecture is brutalism at its finest. And it is a great place for a stroll.

Nice architecture, but one look at the history of the plaza will have you wondering whether or not its construction was necessary.

Lovely architecture. One of my favorite places to visit in upstate, NY.

It's a fantastic reminder of the willingness of government to spend money they don't have, and to finance their dreams off the back's of tax payers.

Really cool, aw inspiring views. Similar to Red Square in Moscow Russia.

A very impressive plaza, and definitely the highlight of Albany for tourists. Well worth a visit, even if a short one.

Beautiful building, helpful staff, a bit tricky to find your way around though. Most security I spoke with were very helpful and friendly, as were the volunteer staff!

The Agency Buildings nay leave you thinking you're about to have the Men In Black descend upon you, and the Swan Building screams 1950's cold-war go-away charm, but the whole thing can only be called charming with sculptures, ice skating, plazas, and the Egg (a concert hall). Truly unique--just don't get lost in the concise or parking garages you nay never find your way out again.
