Excellent Revolutionary War historical site. Beautiful setting, exceptional visitors center and stops along the route can be called up on your cellphone "to hear all about it."

Beautiful grounds to visit, and obviously the amazing history of the battlefield. The Visitor Center has great artifacts on display plus a great fiber optic light exhibit showing the movement of the armies during the conflict.

Walk the Wilkinson trail and you can easily hit most of the areas where the fighting took place (Benedict Arnold's boot monument) plus both British redoubts and earthworks. Just cut back through any of the connecting trails or parts of the road to make it a 3-4 mile walk.

The rest of the park with the Hudson river overlooks and old fortifications can be easily reached by the park road. Entrance is free too!

I loved this tour for many reasons. This is a self-guided 10 mile driving tour. You drive the tour with an app. They put a lot of information on the app you use that brings you to different spots along the route. But before you drive the tour watch the integrated map in the back room of the visitors center. It's really worth your time to reconnect all you've forgotten from grammar school. Take the children so they get a better understanding of what was important about fighting for our independence.

Great place to take a group, but definitely bring your car! We had brought a group of 40 students to learn about the battlefield, and we plan to walk the whole way. However, the sidewalks are small, and there's a lot of danger with cars going by. We were walking in what is essentially the bike lane. The park itself is extremely well-maintained, and has some great historical expose, which will give you all of the information you would like about the battlefield. The Visitor Center is beautiful, and has a lot of things for children and adults look at. The visitor center staff was fairly rude, and they did not greet us, and the women spent the bulk of the time we were in the shop gabbing about their personal problems and their personal issues. I found this very inappropriate. However, it did not stop us from enjoying the beautiful sights, beautiful views, and everything that the park had to offer.

An excellent place to learn the importance of the battle at Saratoga to the American revolution. The movie and the electronic map at the visitor center should be seen to get a good understanding. Use the "app" (which is really the web site) to listen about the stops on the auto tour.

Best place to learn history while relaxing in the woods and getting wonderful views and fresh air.
Been coming here since I was a baby grew with this as my playground love it here and come back everytime i come home for a visit from Maine I thank my mom for bringing me here and my love for it

Very nice people! Very helpful! It is a lovely walk and you can use your phone to narrate, but I don't know a lot about the revolutionary war, I hate to admit, so I felt like there were a lot of people and facts to keep track of. It's more of an explanation of how the war was for the soldiers. Battlefields, to look at, take a lot of imagination to be interesting.
There are two lengths to walk, 4.5 miles or 1.5, I think? We did the 4.5 mile loop. They are both loops. The ride is fun and you can bike it.

Lots of American History here right in our backyard. Lots of people don't even know it's here. And starting this year it's free admission. I like to ride my bike on the 9.4 mile path for exercise and for the awesome views. You can also drive your car on the road at slow speed.

The visitor center staff was very knowledgeable and gave lots of background information. We did the self driving tour with the phone app and that turned out to be a lot of good information, however most o f the stops had little to see.

The Rangers were very helpful and friendly. The 4.2 mile Wilkinson Trail was a great snowshoeing loop. It has markers along the way indicating places of historic significance that you can learn more about from the map you can pick up in the visitor center.

Great place to hike, have some quiet time or learn about the history of Saratoga. The park guides will give you tons of great info on the revolutionary war, General Burgoyne, the surrender of the British forces and more. You can walk the battlefields and get some real perspective on what occurred on this historic land. At the main building, there is even more to see and do. This includes some fabulous dress up opportunities for the kids, as well as a digital display that explains how the British and American forces moved about during a long conflict. Put in for a couple hours if you want to get the most of your trip. Also great for history classes and or scout groups.
