Good college bar. Strong well drinks that well have you e noting your night but regretting it in the morning. The interior could and for am update after many many years.

We came here around 7pm on a Wendesday and the server forgot to ring in our food even though the place was empty. The food was fine but service cohld be a lot better.

Edit: The management at Charley's has stepped up their game and now are serving much quicker with the same quality of drinks and food. Would now recommend to anyone, even if they are short one time.
Charley's is a classic U of M bar. It's a great place to spend time with friends and trivia night is a blast. The quality of the drinks, food and surroundings is really hurt by the staff's speed and apathy. Many times it's taken over 20 minutes to get drinks or get an order placed when the Bar hasn't been full. It seems like it can take just as long to get food/drinks when the bar is packed as it takes when it isn't. Although this is an issue with all of the college bars so it's not that abnormal.response / report this review -

Great night club scene. (Upstairs) Downstairs more of a restaurant relax and mingle type of crowd. Overall great experience.

We came up for a Michigan football game and learned that GTC is a staple of the UM bar scene. Cheap drinks, quick service (even when it's packed), and a friendly crowd. Michigan students (and fans) are pretty hospitable to visiting fans.

Absolutely loved this place! The twisted sticks you have to try!!! And You have to try every sauce! Our waitress was so attentive and the manager came by to make sure we were satisfied!!! Definitely my new fav place!!! I had a good time at Charlie's!!!! 😊

Huge drink menu with many shot options. Quick service. It is usually very busy. Clean bathrooms and a nice outdoor area that is heated in the winter.

The drinks are huge with such a nice variety. It's often busy. It can get hot inside and they don't always have the time to wipe tables properly, so ask for napkins early.

Very lively atmosphere, mostly college crowd. Has probably close to or more than 100 types of shots. Good bar food. A little low on variety of draft beers.

Good place not crowded on week days. Their bacon onion rings are the best kind of bar food. FYI the fish bowl drinks do not come in fish bowls but in large Mason jars. Regardless, they ate very good. The equivalent of 3 drinks.
