We made reservations at Giacomos (south end location) two weeks ago to ensure we had a great place to bring our family that was visiting from out of town. After we all walked over a mile in the 25 degree weather to get to Giacomo’s, we arrived there (on a Saturday night at 7pm) only to find all the lights off and a sign on the door that said “temporarily closed.” The restaurant didn’t bother calling us to let us know they were closed, even though we made reservations two weeks ago! And then we were left stranded outside in the 25 degree weather without a place to eat on a Saturday night in Boston—as anyone in Boston knows, its nearly impossible to walk into a restaurant here without reservations on a Saturday night and get a seat (especially with the large party we had), so we had an impossible time finding somewhere else to eat. Thanks Giacomos, nice job.

The food was amazing. We got the special and was absolutely worth it. We called earlier on the day and made a reservation, highly recommend since it's really busy. Also got the house Sangria which was good. Cash only!

Calamari was good and fresh. We didn’t have a reservation and for a Friday night around 630, the wait was about 45 min. There’s a Bank of America ATM a short walk away where you can get cash. Restaurant can feel a little crammed if you’re not used to the Boston area. This location seemed a little less wait time compared to the one on Hanover St

Calamari (appetizer) is a must! The best appetizer I had. Price is decent, not too expensive nor cheap. Most of the time the place is packed with customers.

Delicious food & okay service. Only takes cash so be ready. They do not split checks either. Be ready to eat a lotor share plates. Very good food.

Awesome Italian food. Great for dates or group dinners. Just about everything on the menu is great. As with any good Italian place in the city make sure you have a reservation. If not it's over an hour wait for a table. Cash only.

UNBELIEVABLY LOUD. You basically have to scream to talk to your date the entire meal. The couple 6" behind you head will be hollering the entire meal. The table behind your date will be bellowing the entire meal. We couldn't hear the waiter. The waiter couldn't hear us and brought the wrong wine. It was beyond unpleasant, it was painful and left my head aching and my ears ringing. I couldn't wait to get out of there. I have actually been to a heavy metal concert that was quieter than this restaurant. If they just put some carpet under the tables, or hung any sort of decoration on the bare walls, or used curtains, or hung a tapestry over that ugly mural painted over wads of used bubble gum the place would probably be much quieter. The food was good but I didn't enjoy it, I just wanted to leave. If they do take out give that a try, but otherwise spare yourself a stressful experience.

Came here to get takeout on a recommendation from a friend, and did not disappoint. Food was on point, portion sizes were good for Italian, and the line at the door was 15 deep. It's a smaller place, but after trying their food, I'm definitely going to be back!

Incredible! The place always has a line and I finally made a reservation to see why. Everything was great, the waiter was perfectly attentive, didn't overwhelm us with constant interruptions and didn't ignore us. I felt like he showed up right when we needed anything. And for the more important part, the food omg, I had the beef tenderloin it was so good and writing this review is just making me want to go back right now and order the same thing. Oh and the tiramisu beyond delicious. Loved it all

This is a great date night place and we went on Valentine's Day and was able to get a seat immediately. Loved the environment and very authentic to the north end restaurants. It's a small place, but worth the wait. Cash only. Salmon was great!

My friend and I passed this place and saw a long line and was thinking that it must be good! After the John Pence gallery, we went there and put our names down. Took about a 30 min waitthere was about 20 pol in front of usI think no one wanted the sushi bar, better for us! We ordered 4 rolls and all of the them were really good! Because my friend and I took advantage of the art gallery's free, yes free, wine, we were lardy buzzing so I do not remember the rolls. It was just 49ers, big mamma and two others! Superuser good! They had a live DJ playing top 40 music so the vibe was pretty cool. I'd def come again and recommend!

After my initial review, I got an immediate response back from management. David acknowledged and explained that there was indeed an issue with one of their wait staff and that the issue was resolved. He apologized and extended an invitation to come back to give another try, and I will go back. I just want to say thank you to their management team and actually reaching out to me. It's nice to know that they do value their customers feedback. It shows they do take pride in their business. I still recommend this establishment and I will be coming back.

I haven't been to a restaurant this good ( and I rarely go to average places as I have been a waiter for 38 years..) the food excellent and beyond the service the same ambience is beyond gorgeous only problem is noise level at brunch.. however, I like quiet for the first couple of hours
