I went on a weekend night for a date. There was a slight issue with our open table reservation going through, but they sat us no problem which we appreciated. We sat downstairs, which is a somewhat close quarters dining area. One atmosphere choice that confused us was that in the middle of this intimate, low light dining room, there was a big bright TV playing ESPN. This seemed better fit for a bar than for the intimate restaurant. Otherwise we really have no complaints, the food was great – on par with what you would expect from an Italian restaurant in the north end. The cocktails were sizable and well mixed. The wine list was fairly extensive, with all the usual choices Italian selections. Overall this restaurant fits in well with the expectations from the north end, I wouldn’t say it breaks any new ground but is still worth checking out if you’re in the area.

This was an excellent choice for my nephew and I. Delicious authentic Italian seafood and pasta dishes that we shared. The service was attentive, the environment traditional, perfect for an evening with friends, family or someone special. This is a restaurant I highly recommend and will return when I visit Boston on my next trip from Texas.

The service was phenomenal, the food was excellent, the environment was quaint/romantic, perfect for conversing over a long meal. They went way above and beyond and we will definitely return.

One of our favorite hideaway bars in the city. Friendly, great drinks. spicy sausage cacciatore and smoke mozz gemeli are to die for. insider secret - ask for a half order. its more than you can eat anyway

Basement/"grotto" dining area was poorly lit with inattentive service and food was mediocre at best. If you want to observe perhaps the cities largest display of plastic grape vines and ivy check it out otherwise there are much better offerings in the area
