Best theater in Columbus. I love to go for special rescreenings and new restorations of classic and foreign films. Not all theaters have 35mm and 70mm film screenings available but this is available for certain movies. Great location with plenty of campus bars and restaurants nearby, cool layout and modern design.

My favorite movie theater in Columbus, and possibly anywhere. If you are an OSU student, you should be going here as often as you can, with the cheap tickets from OUAB. If you're not, you should still go here. Very interesting selection of movies, including many independent films that aren't available elsewhere. The theaters themselves are clean and the seats are not bad. Support independent cinema!

Nice little move theater. None of the rooms are very large but the screens are still good sized and quality. Sound is just okay though. Nice selection of food and drink. From soda to beer ( nice selection of beer for a theater) and an assortment of movie theater candy and food. For a little different experience at the movies, give it a try. Not a place I would want to see the epics, but most everything else would be good. Special nights for different things go on as well so check out their website to find the goings on.

Best independent film theater around. Love how they show old films on the big screen and new ones as well. Not bad on price either.

Nice theater with a lot of events they host. I enjoy checking out the art displays that switch out every few months, and the staff are quite friendly in my experience. If you're a student, you can get really cheap tickets at the event desk as well.

Only downside is the 70mm tickets are pretty expensive, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you just have to have it. But there are so many other options it's not a bit deal.

We love going to the gateway. The refreshment prices are reasonable, and the location is great for dinner and a movie. You can usually see a matinee for pretty cheap, and their normal prices are similar to other theaters. We like the smaller viewing houses and love that they play documentaries and films that you can't see at the big box theaters. Highly recommend checking them out. (Also, they have a parking garage attached and offer cheap parking validation.)

This is one of the best film houses in Columbus and most likely even in all of Ohio. Not only do they have all the big name Hollywood films, they also offer many art and independent as well. Their selection of snacks are about the same as your big chain theater, but they are also attached to a restaurant where you can order off their menu and even purchase alcohol to drink while you enjoy your film. If you are a student, Tuesday are the best days to go;$5 tickets and a free bag of popcorn.

I love this theater. It doesn't always show all the latest blockbusters, but the selection is interesting and worldly. Great service, and students get a discount with BuckID! OSU students can also buy $3 ticket vouchers from the D-Tix desk in the Union and exchange it for a movie ticket here.

The theater is also always clean and welcoming.

Worst 3D movies ever, the glasses are poorly "recycled". When I asked for a legit refund the entire staff laughed it off like I was crazy not even listening to me. Save your money and go to AMC or any other half decent theatre. Never going here again, you can get cheaper student tickets at better theatres that won't treat you like dog****

This is a fantastic theater that legitimizes Columbus as a city that appreciates art, and is something the community should be proud of. They offer both blockbusters and limited-release, foreign, animation, and art-house films with a variety and selection that rivals eclectic theaters in larger cities. They have excellent customer service, and a small on-site bar/restaurant that is nice to visit before or after a flick. What sets the Gateway apart, however, is the clear passion for film held by those who work there. The theaters are always clean and comfortable, the projection is excellent, and the array of special events reveals a passion for film that will make you excited about going to the movies and supporting this institution. A few examples: Sci-Fi sleepovers, the Groundhog Day Marathon, this year's cult film series, and Saturday Morning Cartoons - there's a lot of creativity there. I love the Gateway!

There is no finer film seeing experience in the city, and possibly the nation. The theater is always clean, the chairs are comfortable, and the projections and sounds sharp and crisp. They pick a wide range of features, mixing the big blockbusters with independent, classic, foreign, and local selections. Often the non-standard showings get top billing, and keeping a diligent eye on their schedule is always rewarded. They also pair events with their features, which make the experiences even more fulfilling and social. The concessions are well priced, and complimented with a full bar and a wide craft beer selection.

Amazing film centre. Great selection of independent features. Cool art in the hallways. Really great staff as well. I wish they had a place like this closer to me because I would frequent it for sure. Alas..it will be a fun place to visit on occasion when a movie is playing there that's not playing in this area
