My husband and I love to try new restaurants and I personally LOVE pizza! Not chain pizza, but the real deal, brick oven, hand-tossed, pizza. Garage Bar had great reviews so we gave it a shot tonight. As we walk in, the environment is fun and thematic and we were seated without a wait. We decided on a chicken pizza ($16) with onions and goat cheese which is right up our alley and a meatball appetizer ($9). First came the meatballs which were very tasty but the serving was much too small to share and probably worth $4 instead of the $9 that we paid. Our pizza was soon to follow and it looked delicious. My first bite was anything but. The chicken on the pizza was very off-putting and almost tasted like it had gone bad. We tested every other part of the pizza and it was all very good. We waited for our waitress to come by and brought it to her attention. She seemed irritated and did not believe that it was the chicken that was bad but that it was our taste buds. She provided many explanations to the odd taste but we kindly insisted that it just wasn’t right. We ordered a margarita pizza ($11) in its place but our waitress offered no apology or care about our experience. She was very cold for the remainder of our meal and seemed frustrated that we had requested a new pizza. Our margarita pizza came out after a few minutes and it was good but very skimpy. All of the ingredients tasted good together but again, very poor quality effort putting it together. All in all, we will not be visiting Garage Bar again and will not suggest it to anyone.

I've been to Garage Bar many times & I love the atmosphere. From ping-pong tables that light up at night (that's right, I said they light up at night!), To great brunch selections. Garage Bar is a great place to go at any point in the day!

Super cool place with a solid beer list. The mixed drinks I've had there have been tasty, too. The crowd here tends to be pretty low key and fun. I've always had a blast when going there

Ham and cheese (locally sourced) sampler platter with crusty Italian bread made for excellent appetizer. Nicely put together pepperoni pizza featuring house made pepperoni and other delicately balanced flavors on a super thin crust hot from the wood fired oven. Craft sodas. Great poppy seed cheese cake. Great service. No misses. Definite 5 for this kind of place.

This is the first place I found in this town with local beer on tap. Great outdoor area with lit up ping pong tables, tons of casual seating, and an overall fun ambiance. I didn't order food, but the menu looked good too. I would definitely come here again!

It rained the first time I came here, so I didn't even know about the main draw, the outdoor area that serves as a biergarten with a bonus--outdoor games and a slow-moving car crash! The place is also known for their beer, and I don't drink. I was just focused on the food. We had a country ham platter with homemade mustard and delicious cheeses, salads, and some exquisite pizzas. The cooks even noticed my patient 3 year old and made her a surprised ice cream cup! The family went back in better weather and had a blast!

Cool vibe, great outdoor space, good beer and Bourbon. Games are fun and make it a nice place to hang out for a while. We also ordered two salads and a pizza. Salads were great, and the pizza (potato & pancetta) was good but much too oily. I literally had oil running down my arms. Nice dough though, so the other pizzas are probably better.

This place is super cool! We were visiting from Chicago and it was definitely a highlight of our trip. The food was awesome the service was awesome the ambiance was awesome. Overall it was an awesome experience

Best drinks in Louisville, and great outdoor areas to hangout in the summer. Puppy friendly, iron and bright with fun ping pong on the patio. Make sure to get the homemade tonic, a pizza, or a basil gimlet!

A fun and quirky spot with awesome character.

Not only are there glow-in-the dark ping pong tables, there's also a car that is slowly being crushed in this garage-turned bar.

There's ample outdoor seating and a sense of community around the free ping pong tables.

As a one-day tourist to the city, this was definitely a good place for me to get a good idea of what some of the younger crowd gets into in Louisville.

I would definitely go back. I love places with character.

Excellent, inventive menu and perfectly prepared food. A fun atmosphere, especially if you can sit outside. Impressive bourbon selection and cocktails. Love this place and will always come back.
