We had so much fun here! Although it was cold, and we weren’t fully prepared for winter camping, we had oodles of fun at our site. Convenient bathhouses, great trails, clean campsites, great staff, and beautiful views make for the perfect camping experience! Thank you so much for an amazing experience, and we’ll see y’all during the “real” camping season! ;)
Beautiful campground with large secluded spaces. The leaves were changing while we were there and there could not have been a more beautiful place on earth. Aside from the small bath houses, this is one of the best national forest campgrounds we've ever stayed in.
This is hands down one of the best National Forest campgrounds we've been to. Large secluded spaces, great amenities and helpful staff. They have a trail head for Mt. Rogers, s beautiful 1 mile walking trail, playground and water feature. The bath houses are nice, although small. We can't wait to come back I the summer.
Very friendly and nice folks!
Beautiful campground! Staff is great. Campground and bathhouse are very clean and neat. Camp sites are excellent!!!
We love Grindstone Campground in the Mt Rogers National Recreational Area! Have stayed there many times, and have never been disappointed. Just a few miles from Marion, VA!
32-56 dollars a night plus 10 dollars "reservation" fee is ridiculous. Shouldn't using the automation of the website be saving them money? I don't understand why we have to pay $10 to use an automated website to reserve a camping spot on Federal Land that tax dollars are supporting anyway.
Great for parking while hiking overnight! Friendly staff that was helpful when needed.
Great private campsites. Hot water in the showers was hit or miss at the end of the season.
