Amazing experience in this boutique hotel privately owned and managed. A+ service, extremely comfortable beds in cozy rooms, wood fireplace to add up to a rustic vibe to experience Adirondacks naturally.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The place is beautiful! We stayed the first weekend in February, which was quiet. This appealed to us. We purchased a package to include breakfast & dinner. We loved the fireplace and the snowy view on our patio! Mary was our room attendant and she was so hospitable. Our chef was Scott and he was amazing, honestly! Our server, Tracey, was very accommodating and friendly! It was the get away that we needed! Although it is a quiet town, you can go snowmobiling nearby, cross-country skiing on Friends Lake or drive about an hour to either White Face Mountain or Lake George for outlet shopping. This is a place for quiet and relaxation!

Poor services!! We stayed here for our honeymoon, we arrived late on our first night and there was a note and key to our room. Next morning we tried to order our breakfast which was all inclusive, we were told that we cannot since we didnt fill out the form a night before. Had we been told, we would have tried to get something from somewhere else. The next day our order got messed up and we ended up getting something which caused us allergic reaction. The girl at the frontdesk gave us an attitude when we told her about the issue and charged us for food eventhough we have already paid and it was all inclusive arrangement. She ended up calling the owner of the place and even she gave us an attitude. If you think getting $22 is more important than your customer satisfaction then do your homework for hospitality. Stay away from these crooks.

What a beautiful place to stay! We live locally but spent two nights of our honeymoon here. From the moment we walked in we felt welcome and spoiled. The staff was attentive and polite, our room was spotless and beautiful (and very comfortable) and the grounds were meticulously maintained. It was a very relaxing two days and we couldn't be happier with our decision to stay with Friend Lake Inn.

Their Local Flavor deal is a scam. It advertises an overnight stay that can be redeemed between Sunday and Thursday. My mom purchased the deal in March and intended to use the coupon during her vacation in August - the expiration date was listed as September 14 2017. When she called to make the reservation, they told her that the deal is only valid between November and May and therefore she could not use it in August. It is currently July. So the next time their weird November-May timeline is in effect, her $250 deal will be expired and they said they would not honor it in November even after she explained the issue. Also, in the winter, the establishment isn't even open during the week so the only days it can be used is Sunday and Monday which is not advertised either. The deal currently is listed on the local flavor site and has an expiration date of October 31, 2017. So, if you can only use the coupon between November and May but you are selling it in July with an expiration in October, it is essentially unusable and a scam. Thankfully, Local Flavor refunded my mom the money. Unfortunately, this business isn't trust worthy and will not receive any business from my family.

After a terrible event where we had booked a trip to Iceland, only to be denied departure due to a passport expiring within 3 months (something not properly conveyed by the travel agency), with no refunds ($3k down the drain) despite having travel insurance, we booked a last minute one night trip to Friends Lake Inn. The trip from NYC was relatively quick (4 hours), the scenery beautiful, and the accommodations immaculate. The staff was kind and courteous. The room (#8) was lovely as well. They turned a terrible weekend into a pretty good one, and even processed a discount code that wasn't properly processed upon check out. We are now discussing coming back every year. Recommend for relaxing, disconnecting from stress, and taking a nice long walk on the trails.
