I myself produce a lot of films that I put on the internet, and Foys is amazing if you are looking for props or costumes! They have everything you could possibly think of from dressing up to decorating a house EVERYTHING! The store itself is so unique and interesting that if I am nearby I will go through it just to look around at everything they have. Also, I'm a hat person and they have every kind of hat you can name.
Five stars for the variety, service, reasonable prices, and all around awesomeness of Foy's Variety Store!

One great place to go find things you have a hard time finding anywhere else. Hard to classify all they have but candy, everything Halloween, decorations for all occasions and then more it is so packed.

Site said open till 10:00 today. Drove 30 minutes only to find they are not open on Sunday. Would have been nice to know.

A fun place to go and get lost (possibly literally) everything from party supplies to halloween masks, candy and things you never knew existed (but will probably want anyway)

This is a great place especially if your someone who uses "Ben Nye", or need to rent a costume, or for movie props. Unfortunately they seem short of staff when it comes to customer service. The workers are really nice and great but seem like they have to much to do at once.

Rude, Offensive & Appalling Encounter w/ Female Owner

Foy's does a great job attracting crowds to downtown Fairborn around Halloween but a foul owner sure won't keep people coming back.
Owning a business, especially with chaotic traffic streaming through, would keep stress high but that's no excuse to be horrible.
Tonight we took out a good friend for a fun night before she undergoes a double mastectomy this coming Monday. We had a fabulous dinner at Tickets and then set out to explore all of Foy's attractions.
Knowing she won't be well for a while after this weekend, our friend Carol, was in the mood to shop & prepare for her favorite holiday. She excitedly purchased a 12ft. clown & strobe from an extremely helpful & funny gentleman at the prop store along with a mask from another very cool guy at the trinket store. (Thank goodness the owner has managed to find nice staff to make up for her short comings.)
Here's where our night went south and the incident took place that has me angry enough to be writing this.
While visiting the costume store, Carol, found a hat and was carrying it around. After finding a larger version of said hat, she picked it up and put the one in her hand in its place. Granted it wasn't the exact place where she'd found it, it was fine. That's when a woman accusingly approached, questioning the hat's location. She stated that she was an owner and had footage of Carol putting it in her bag. Knowing it was a mistake, Carol said, "oh no, here, I'll show you where I sat it". Retrieving the hat in question wasn't enough though, the owner continued to harass creating a loud and embarrassing scene.
Now I understand that there are thieves in this world. I also understand that it is the owner's job to be on the lookout. My advice would be that next time, before she accuses someone, she should make sure that what she "thinks" she knows is actually true or at the very least be more tactful with the approach.
So tonight, when you go and watch the video of the alleged theft attempt, I hope you feel ashamed and apologetic for being so down right nasty to a cancer-ridden customer who was simply trying to buy a hat.
I know one thing for sure, I will never ever ever ever step foot or suggest to another to step foot, inside one of your stores again.
