A store from another time. It's a real shame places like this aren't as common as they once we're. Walking through the doors, for someone like me (who is obsessed with pens), is like walking into the Wonka chocolate factory. A veritable wonderland of fine writing supplies. Beautiful pens from all over the world to fit any budget. Definitely worth the trek to lower Manhattan, even if you just want to browse and test out a pen you'll never afford. I tried out a Visconti and a few American brands. A truly magical experience.

If you love pens of any kind, this store is a must. Don't let the name fool you, they also carry fancy pencils and ball point pens as well. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, but prone to try and upsell you a bit, though not super pushy about it.

Love this shop. I collect fountain pens and have received a few of their pens as gifts in the mail (great gift presentation by the way). I finally decided to visit in person and I wasn't disappointed at their collections. I went in looking for a "cracked ice" type of design. The staff was helpful in giving me breathing and thinking room when I wanted to just wander about and look at the pens, then became quite helpful when I needed to see a few selections.

I've been collecting their catalogue for 18 years before I finally had the pleasure of stepping foot into their actual store. I had only one full day to myself in New York, I took my first helicopter ride around the statue of liberty, saw Phantom of the Opra on times square, walked from from the harbour to Times Square, yet still, my favourite part was the three hours I spent in this store admiring the many beautiful pens from around the world. Their prices are perfect, something for everyone. All, excellent quality. Their staff are extremely knowledgeable and generally fun people to hang out with. I can't wait to go back. I have an ever growing collection of quality pens, but I've never been into such an impressive pens store.

Really good experience, the reviews about staff scared me, I think some people just aren't used to perhaps the more "old school" nature of the place? It's typical of all sorts of hobby or niche interest shops, with staff that actually know the products (versus your typical best buy employee). Anyway, I went in there completely naive to fountain pens, I told them my (modest) price range and the style and they showed me what they had. Everything was labelled with price too. They did a free gift wrap that was very well done! Would recommend.

Fantastic staff (we chatted comics!) and pens for all price points. Ask their advice about their vintage and pre-owned stock if you want something special: you won't be disappointed.

I'm an avid fountain pen user, but I've never had the time to go here, even though I passed it almost every day. Went there with a friend and we walked out with our own fountain pens, notepads and ink. They also sell high-end ballpoint pens, rollerball pens, and pencils alongside the fountain pens, ink, and stationary. If you order ahead of time, you can pick up a pen and they will even gift wrap it for you if you wish. The store itself is beautiful, organized, and clean. The gentlemen who worked there were incredibly nice and asked us if we needed help as soon as we walked in. They'll even show fountain pen newbies how to properly use and maintain their pens. It was like hanging out with old friends lol. I'll be moving out of NYC soon, but I'll be sure to visit when I come back!

They are a specialist in their field and have the most amazing variety of pens. They ship all over the world and dealing with them has never been a problem.

I have been to this store once to buy a cartridge for a vintage pen. When I stepped in, I was astonished at the amazing collection of pens they had. Moving past that, I first went to Court Street Office Supplies in Brooklyn for the cartridge. Unfortunately, they did not have any cartridges that fit the pen, and didn't know what the pen was. So I went to this store, and when I gave them the pen, they knew exactly what kind of pen it was and were straightforward in telling me that the cartridges were no longer made. But even then, they immediately knew a converter that would work, and they had it! Amazing service & knowledge.
