Incredible fort that is almost completely intact to its original construction. Many trails on the island make the site a great place to visit with the family for a few hours or an entire day. The purchase of your entrance pass allows you seven days of access to the island the fort is on, so if you don't have time to enjoy everything in one day, you can easily come back. Great Ranger led tours of the fort are offered for free, check the schedule at NPS.gov.

Great tour, lots of history. Tour guide was really friendly and knowledgeable. Only downside is the mosquitos. Got bit pretty good. Otherwise it was pretty well maintained, considering there was some construction going on.

This is a great place for History buffs. Volunteer lecturer Butch was very knowledgeable about the history of the fort, military leaders and fort construction. Thank you Butch, gift shop volunteer(who charged my cell phone while I was at presentation) and NPS for the great opportunity!

If you are visiting the Tybee Island area or are stationed at Fort Stewart, I highly recommend coming here! There is a lot of great history to learn about Fort Pulaski and the views are pretty incredible. It was free entry for military, so I took my family and they all enjoyed it. I would recommend allowing yourself to spend about 3-4 hours here. You can walk to the top of the fort walls and take the walking paths around the structure. I highly recommend going here, A+

Great place to visit right between Tybee and Savannah. The trails provided excellent spots for bird watching.
Took away 1 star for the fire ants that bit my wife while walking inside the fort. So parents be aware if your kids go in the grass.

The wife and I have been here a few times. We love walking around and watching the cannon fire. Great for a weekend when you have nothing to do and you'll learn something too.

An amazing place to visit. This fort is very impressive! Great for kids and adults! There are many things to explore on this island beyond just the fort. Plan to spend at least 4 hours at this location.

I haven't been in quite a few years, but the couple of times I have been, I loved it! You can feel the historic spirit of the fort and imagine how it was used! I love historical monuments and visiting old forts gives me a rush that is hard to explain! I will be taking my girls once they are old enough to understand what is being said to them!

Always enjoy a trip to Ft. Pulaski. There are a few trails leading to different views all over the island. Walk through the trees, by the river, or to see the lighthouse. Going through the fort the the fort is cool, literally. Underneath the earthen berms it is quite cool, even in the Summer. If you can bear the heat, take one of the spiral stone staircases up to the top for great views of Tybee and beyond. With lots of other history it's definitely worth the nominal fee to get in.

Fascinating historical place. Went two days and found different things to see and do each day. Very photogenic. I liked how much of the fort and surrounding area was accessible- haven't seen another fort where the underground parts are open to explore. There was construction on the access bridge, so getting there was a bit slow. Employees were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Bathrooms were clean and easy to find. Displays were clear and easy to understand.

If you are in the area, this is definitely worth the cost to see all that they have to offer. The fort is very interesting and there is a lot to see in and around it. It's especially great to see the damage to the outer walls and in a few places, there are cannon balls still lodged in the wall. Catch one of the three tours going on during the day and be sure to take the hike behind the fort to see the Cockspur Island Lighthouse up close and hermit crabs.

We did a lot during our visit. Our girls did the Junior Ranger Program. We had a very informational tour guide that was interactive. She answered a lot of questions and made you think. There is plenty to do and information to process. Highly recommend this fort and we will be doing this trip again. Wish other forts were this hospitable.

One of the best preserved historic Forts in the USA, Fort Pulaski is just about twenty minutes from downtown Savannah. The Fort features a visitor center, where you can learn about the history of the Fort, several hiking trails, and of course the Fort itself. Unlike other historic Forts, this one was not upgraded to the modern era, allowing us to see what things were like when it was completed cira the mid-1800s.
It's fun for the whole family.

I have not been to this for many years. They have done a lot of work to it and it looks great since what I had last remember when I was a child. I was a little sad to see that some of the rooms have been blocked off. I understand that he needs to be preserve that I know they don't want it to followed Fall Apart. I was just kind of comparing to other forts I had been like Fort Clinch or Casteel sent Marco where you're allowed to go in the rooms but I guess they felt that that was the best way to preserve it. Overall the staff was very helpful and it was a great day to be had by all. If you are visiting please understand that they are doing major construction on the bridge on the way in so there may be a few minute wait you're going yet. Also if you're in I can there is a great hiking route there as well worth seeing.

We went here on a Saturday and it wasn't overly crowded. We chose to take our own tour instead of the guided one. Was very affordable for a family of 3. They're still finishing up their repairs from the hurricane but all areas are still accessible. A great visit for any history buff with lots to look at.
