Nice place to take the kids/fam. Great for walking/exercising(always safer with a friend). River access. Park. Covered stations. It's a nice place.
Best thing to do in Macon. Great playground. Tubing down the river is a must
Went by I guess about an hour and a half before the Park closed yesterday evening so I didn't get to explore it thoroughly but I really liked what I saw it seem to be well you know well designed there was more than one point where there's river access there was a playground Pavilions and trails it's spread out over a large area I was sort of impressed. I think of Macon as rich in musical culture, but not cutting edge in terms of outdoor offerings like trails and paddling. They really raised the bar here 😊
It was AMAZING! I conquered the crazy current, I was standing on a slanted rock, It was not too hard after a few minutes. It's okay.
I didn't even know this place existed. I was looking for something fun to do with the hubby for our anniversary weekend, no kids! It was so great that we are thinking about buying our own tubes for that whole family and going through out next summer.
This is a great park. It has a playground for the kids but I love walking the trails. It's quiet and I get to see wildlife. Check out the pond trail.
I will give to the city. You got this right. A beautiful investment and it is used daily by the citizens. Well designed and maintained. We use it every weekend to walk and exercise. Pond trail needs a little signing for trails. Thank you for this investment in our community.
This is one of my favorite places in Macon. There are paved walking trails as well as a big playground and lots of space for picnics. My favorite thing to do is to grab friends and tube down the river. It's a perfect way to stay cool and relax in the summer!
Great place for families. Clean park. Kids can run, play tag, ride bikes, or walk. Wonderful environment.
Great family friendly park, with playground, walking trails, pavilions overlooking the river, and river access. Great location for a picnic or just a walk. Trails are paved and stroller and bike friendly.
Large beautifully kept park in the heart of Macon. Areas for picnicking, playground equipment for all ages, and many hiking/bicycling paved paths. All set along the river for a scenic visit that can't be beat. Free to visit which makes it a family friendly and fun outing.
Beautiful place to enjoy a walk along the river. It is well maintained and accessible. You forget how close you are to civilization except for an occasional train passing by.
This park has be gentrified. If you do not fit the local definition of desirable, you will not feel welcomed. I used this space for years, before the gentry wanted for there own, then define use. The formal mayor likes to brag on the miles of concert he got installed. Just so happens he now uses the trails daily, with his mountain bike.
Another lesson in how to have the public pay for your way of life, then control it for everyone else to use.
A great example of the redefinition of Manifest Destiny.
