My husband and I enjoy eating burgers at different places and then critiquing them. This is at the top of our list! SO DELICIOUS, great service, and amazing atmosphere. Wish we could have sat outside but it was raining.

Food was really good.burger.chicken sandwich and fries were all perfect. The flavours blended well. Ranch was good. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. Cute atmosphere. Only downside was the wait to have our order taken..close tp 10 minutes . But the food more then made up for it..looooved the little dog menu . Happy I could bring pups.

This is my happy place! Love the owners. Love that they are pet friendly. Nice bar inside and great fireplaces both inside and outside. 5star food and drink.

So this is my first review of Forge in the forest, but I have been here 3 times over the last 3 years. Up until tonight the food and service was a solid 4 stars.
I made reservations earlier this afternoon the maitre d was very friendly and asked if we wanted to eat inside or out? we said in side please. 7pm rolls around and we were quickly seated.
Our waitress seemed in a rush and had a scowl on her face. She asked me what I wanted, I said a Hawaiian pizza and add sausage and a fried egg in the center. (She began to say something about not being able to put a fried egg on top but I quickly informed her that I have ordered the same Pizza twice before. With a perturbed look on her face she wrote something down and walked away)
My brother in law ordered hamburger with garlic fries and his wife order ravioli.
1/2 hour later the food arrives at our table all that is except for the hamburger which they accidentally gave to somebody else at another table. When the burger finally did arrive, it was raw in the middle, I'm talking uncooked raw.
The ravioli all seven pieces (see pic) for $19, what!?
My pizza had a weird aftertaste flavor, also after i started eating it I said to myself, self isn't this pizza supposed to have pineapple and scallions? so I looked on the menu and sure enough it's supposed to come with pineapple scallions and Canadian bacon yes they did put on fried egg and the sausage but how in world did they forget to put on the toppings that normally come on the pizza?
After I was done eating the pizza, the waitress came up and asked me how it was I told her it was missing two ingredients. She said she was sorry and when she presented me with my bill she said she took off $2. Really!? You charge $2 extra per topping yet you leave off 2 toppings and don't give me the pizza I ordered and only take off $2. (Oh and by the way thank for not refilling our empty water glasses.
Sorry to say Forge but I'm cutting ties with you. I will not be coming back again. You embarrassed me in front of my family after giving you such high praises.

Nice restaurant in Carmel by the Sea. Dog friendly. Nice setting. Excellent service. My wife loved her veggie sandwich and soup. My reubin sandwich was rather pedestrian. My wife wants to try again and if I'm pleasantly surprised by my next meal I'll give another star

A friend and I were left waiting for 10 minutes until someone came to the host table. Then a male employee finally came and was hesistant to help us. He said we had to make a reservation and it would be a 30 minute wait when only two tables were taken. I wrote down my number and he never called us when it was time. The quality of professionalism was not well. Wish I had a better experience.

This is our Go-to place in Carmel. Food is excellent, never had a disappointing meal here. Had superb service on our visit today, but in the past can be slow when busy. Recommend French Onion Soup, clam/seafood chowder, Cobb salad, SF fondue, and onion rings. Dog friendly and offers a doggie menu.

We arrived earlier than the crowd so we were able to pick a table that works the best for us and our pups. Love my stuffed mushroom covered by crab meat. We didn't order from the pet cuisine menu but the pups got an order of steam vegetables instead. Very nice environment for dog owners and dogs.

Wow! Is not just the food (great grilled artichokes or the interesting bread bowl fondue). The patio is really nice (plus we had a beautiful weather), music, families, and great service too.

We decided to travel with our dog and luckily we found this restaurant, and we liked it because they accept dogs, but we never imagine they also have a menu for them, they brought water for our best friend and I am sure she had a great time with her Hen House Chicken Strips. Haven't been in a similar restaurant, highly recommend this place. Kudos!

The score is primary on service. We had a party of 3 for lunch today. One of the most constructive feedback for the owner would to focus on customer service. At least set your service exceptions with your patrons so they do not just sit there wondering what is taking so long. Also the waiters should work as a team to see all customers are being serviced.

Getting to a restaurant after lunch can be a good time if you want to avoid crowds or a bad time if you arrive during shift change. On this day, a server was late and the two on staff were very overwhelmed. It took a long time between ordering, receiving drinks, receiving our meals, getting the check, and paying. In all it took about 90 minutes for two people. I could understand if we were having a long afternoon brunch, enjoying the sun and weather. It wasn't. We wanted a quick bite and to head out. It took almost 20 minutes to get the check, give it back, and get the receipt to sign and leave. I got up twice to find someone, but they were running around tending to everything else.

The food was decent, though the cobb salad had a fair amount of half decomposed leaves in it-- not great. The vegetarian sandwich was really satisfying, and the french fries were some of the best I had.

I probably wouldn't go back here before trying other restaurants. I will say the outdoor area was very nice and seemed like a great place for a meal. If that's what you're looking for, I suggest it. It gets a lot of shade, so make sure that you have something warm to wrap-up in, or you could get pretty darn cold if it's not a hot day.
