Nice collection of art through the ages, all well represented by various art forms; painting, sculpture, carving, glass, ceramics, etc

John Henry has done a brilliant job over the years. This is truly a flagship for the community. If you haven't visited, do so. Additionally, membership is so reasonable that it practically pays for itself.

I have been visiting the FIA annually for about 15 years. The museum itself is one of the more interesting collections in Michigan, second only to the DIA. On my last visit, two different security employees asked to see my admission badge. The badge, shown in picture below, was displayed prominently in my jacket. For some unknown reason, both interrupted me reading each time and asked to see it. This was totally unnecessary and rude. I understand if busy perhaps an ask between exhibits. This was for a purpose unknown.

On Thanksgiving weekend my family & I visited the FIA and thoroughly enjoyed it! I'm a retired figure drawing teacher and wanted to see "Drawn to the Figure." It was a beautiful exhibit. I was wondering if this was a traveling exhibit or one the FIA originated from their own collection. I didn't read about the exhibit, unfortunately. We all enjoyed the museum shop and there were some really good sale items for souvenirs! We'll be back. Maybe with a bus trip from Fort Wayne. Are there more galleries we could visit while in Flint?
