We stayed at a tent cabin for two nights. All the tent cabins are located by a stream. The cabin itself is cute, relatively clean and comfy. We heard birds and turkeys early in the morning. We would enjoy a lot more if the employees didn’t smoke cigarettes next to our cabin that often. Also, there’s no cleaning station around tent cabins.

Cabin 1 is closest to the road, restroom and cleaning station, while cabin 9 is closest to the employees cigarette.

I live in the area and pass by this all of the time, and eat at their restaurant now pretty frequently. It looks like a great place to stay! Really nice to stay at a place with such a good restaurant.

a very basic motel, clean and nice. no tv in our room, which was quite nice. comfortable bed, the bathroom was small but had the basics and everything worked. we enjoyed the property and the small convenience store and grill/restaurant.
the only gripe we had was that the young staff working in the store and doing check-in seemed pretty indifferent to us, almost like we were inconveniencing them by spending money there.

What a cute, rustic place to camp! They put me and my dog in a campsite tucked way back by the river. It was great. Since it was November, it was pretty quiet so it was a very peaceful stay.

The bathrooms were clean and included showers. The dish washing station actually had HOT water and a dish drying rack. I think it's the only place we camped that has hot water for washing dishes.

The kids who worked in the camp shop and general store were friendly and helpful. You can find just about anything you might need at either store. I only needed firewood. There is also a restaurant attached if your not in the mood for cooking (or staying in the motel).

Quiet and relaxing. A great place for kids to play and go inner-tubing in the river. Lots of big trees, clean bathrooms. The roads are a bit dusty as cars drive in and out though.

We stayed in an adventure tent. The location is great and the tents are so cute! Also, the restaurant for pizza and beer was fun! The only thing we really didn't enjoy was the service. The staff was fine.. they just didn't seem too eager to help and weren't great at answering our questions. Overall, definitely worth the price, just wish the front desk staff would at least pretend to care a bit more.

Obviously an amazing location, but one huge downside was the noise. The walls were thin enough that I could hear full conversations from the room next door. We were woken up at 7 am by a charming conversation regarding the whereabouts of the neighbors cigarettes. Very frustrating to say the least.

My fiance and I went there for dinner and drinks. We sat at the bar where the friendly barman, Dave, took great care of us. My lady had a streak quesadilla with guacamole. I enjoyed the "BLAT" sandwich because I love breakfast for dinner. Everything was good! Great local and international beer selection. Nothing fancy at Fernwood, just a comfortable, warm place to hang out, fill up, and relax or play ping pong!

53 is the best spot hands down. The whole place is really cozy and well maintained. The restroom facility is cleaner than most camping places. Only reason why I give it a 4 star is because the river is the only activity in the campground without having to drive out.

We stopped at Fernwood after discovering route 1 was closed past Big Sur and we could not get to the Big Sur Bakery. We were pleasantly surprised to find a menu consisting of home made fare. The humus was obviously made fresh and the nachos we're excellent with the added tri tip steak. The staff was very welcoming. We will definitely be back.

Pretty basic but a nice setting along the river. Most campsites are right along the Big Sue River.

There was an outdoor wedding reception with music blasting. The music could be heard throughout entire campsite, and extending towards the trails.
1. First of all, the reason I went camping and chose Big Sur was because it's out of the way, and fairly secluded.
2. I wanted to leave big city noises behind
3. The music was playing between 5pm, and around 10pm. That's about five hours of pure drunken noise emitting from loudspeakers, thanks to a DJ that they hired for an event.
3. The sunset to evening time transition is supposed to be the best part of a camping trip, and the reason why they get away with this kind if thing is because it's private property.

There was also a creepy dude, alone in his truck parking at different tent sites. He had Arizona plates, like to roll in late. He parked next to our tent but slept in his truck, or broke into tent next to ours. A day later he was on the same tract, because we had moved. Anyway, he was a creepy disrespectful jerk, he bumped into our tent carelessly in the middle of the night.
I also saw him park in a different neighboring tents parking spot, but I was certain a couple was already occupying the tent. The man us weird and should be reportedhe had no cause to be there, he's just hanging out in tents whose reservation that no one showed up to claim.

Next trip up north in this area will definitely be at a state park, or deetjens. This was pure fuckery, and bullcrap. They don't enforce or have a plan to enforce a policy against creepers, or loud events blasting from the bar. One star, this place SUUUUUUUUUUUCCKKED.

The resort is in the perfect location for hiking, camping, our just cruising down the scenic Pacific Highway. Our room didn't have a tv, nor should there be one. You don't go to this resort to watch tv. You go there to embrace the incredible mountains, beautiful coastline, and amazing people.

The motel room is adorable, and we have a nice big private balcony with our own hot tub. The view is beautiful and serene. The food st the restaurant is amazing. I would definitely come back here and would recommend this place to everyone!
