Nice and comfortable. Great breakfast, but had to walk outside to another hotel next door. The pool and the hot tub are not in the same buildings, either. The pool was clean, but the hot tub, which was in with the little kiddie splash park, was smelly. That whole area smelled like urine. The room was clean, the people very kind. There was no elevator, and the stairwells were not clean. In fact, they were rather gross the whole time we were there--3 days.

We're actually staying in the Clarion which shows as Fairview in Google Maps. Maybe they're the owned by the same place? Nice, clean room. Wish there were more electric outlets in usable locations. Would stay here again. Pretty quiet on the top (3rd) floor at night.

When we pulled up we weren't sure what we were getting into. The price was amazing as was the hotel room and the staff. A water park that made even adults have fun was included at no additional cost. My family and I will definitely be making this trip again and we will purposely choose this hotel

After making a reservation at another hotel that was closed, we were directed by a sign on the door to check in at this hotel. We were told we had to stay at this hotel or loose our money. This hotel is very dated. Has a small pool. Was in disrepair. The biggest problem was the lady at the front desk. She was very rude. We would have gone elsewhere but she said she would charge our credit card even though this was not the hotel we reserved. Very strange situation. Will no longer stay in Mackinaw city.

The only good thing I can say about this hotel is the great view of the lake and beach area. Our room was filthy and bug infested. The sheets had sand in them and appeared to not have been changed/cleaned from previous stays. The a/c unit was full of dirt and dust and barely worked. The bathroom was disgusting and dirty and had not been cleaned. The bathtub was blackened with dirt, the toilet was stained with urine spots and fecal matter. The bathroom mirror had dirt and grime all over it as well as the bathroom sink. There were cobwebs all over the room. The curtains were dirty and stained. The lock on our door was broken at check in and never repaired. We did not receive maid service one time during our stay which means no clean linen or sheets. The pillow on the bed was moldy. Now let's talk about the water park and hot tub. Half of the water park equipment did not work. The hot tub had clumps of hair floating around and piles of dirt on the bottom. The staff explained that the sump pump had broken and backed up into the hot tub and the maintenance must not have drained and refilled the hot tub. My son has bug bites all over his body now. When we tried to complain about the room the staff was very rude and dismissive. We tested a water sample from the hot tub which showed results that were off the charts. Mackinaws health department really needs to pay a visit to this hotel and do an inspection. Please save your money and stay somewhere else. If you do choose to stay here, take a black light like we did and you can see for yourself.

Very poorly kept bathroom molding was warping and sticking off the walls and the grout in the center of the bathroom tiles was almost completely washed out leaving plenty of places for mold to grow. The beds and rest of the rooms were okay but the top plug on every outlet was loose and the plugs fell out immediately, and then there's the Wi-Fi completely unusable, I don't come to hotels for looks and scenery or a old town feel I come for comfort so I can find those elsewhere and this did not offer that, squeaky doors dirty carpets and other such things made sure of that

Room was mostly clean. There was a lone french fry under one bed and hair in the shower. When we went to the pool, it was pretty gross. No idea when it had last been cleaned. We used the pool skimmer to clean out what appeared to be every bug in the state. The breakfast buffet is actually located at the hotel next door. It was just okay. We did not use the water park (also shared between multiple hotels, like the breakfast) but the kids looked in and said it was disappointing. More of a splash pad for younger children. For what we paid, it wasn't bad. You can't expect 4 diamond resort quality for less than $75 a night.

We didn't get the room we booked. The receptionists wasn't much help. The bed was dirty and the heater was stuck on full blast all night, there was no off switch for it. The sheets didn't fit the bed. Just a bad experience all around. 1 out of 10. Would not stay there again
