I wanted to surprise my boyfriend and take him to a restaurant with amazing food and a beautiful atmosphere, the English Inn was it. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff and led to their beautiful dining room with a fire place and piano player. We ordered the duck and stuffed walleye. Both were amazingly delicious. The scenery on the inside and outside were amazing! We will definitely be coming back for all of our special occasions. I highly recommend the English Inn!

I went to English Inn for a work Christmas party and had a great time. The menu selection wasn't conducive to a 'picky' eater, but I believe that may have been provided based on vote among my co-workers. The staff was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was nice.

The English Inn is a one of a kind experience of fine dining and accommodations from days past. Dining was by candlelight and a fire with good food Every meal should be this way. Every piece of furniture and art work has a story from years past. We stayed in the cottages which are brand new immaculately clean, and still carrying that old world feel. The greatest part was the staff. They went out of their way to satisfy is. We made a few unusual requests that any another place would have decline, but The English Inn wanted to make sure we were happy. We will go back!

Beautiful establishment. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Bartender took great care of me and offered drink advice leading to one of the best cocktails I've ever enjoyed. The food was delicious, all four in my group were beyond happy with their food choice. We will be back to sample more. The English Inn is well known in the area for their great food as well as their bed and breakfast. You won't regret it.

From the beginning, I did not have a good experience planning my wedding at English Inn. Prior to 2017, I sincerely loved English Inn the few times I went (pretty landscaping with good food), hence my reason for planning my wedding there. I had a lot of problems reaching the Wedding Planner for weeks. My fiancee and I put down a deposit in May 2017. Shortly after, we realized that our dream wedding was in another location. I reached out to English Inn hoping to donate my deposit to another grateful bride, as I understood my nonrefundable deposit was not likely to be reimbursed, even 1.5year in advance. Not only was the owner rude, but accused me of "blackmailing" by offering to change my 1 star review if their company was willing to be charitable to our community. I am disappointed in this company and their poor customer service. I would not suggest this venue to future brides. Giving is what makes the world go 'round and this company is only interest in making money. Good place for dinner, but not the kind of people I was hosting my dream wedding.

Beautiful venue for a wedding. Outdoor wedding. Inside reception. Grounds are manicured very nicely. Food was good. Plenty of space. Cute duplex cottages for guests. Didn't visit the main building. Plenty of parking.

My husband and I went to celebrate our 1 year anniversary, and it was a wonderful experience. The service was superb, and the food was the best meal I've had while dining out. It's a beautiful inn with a stunning view. I can't recommend this place enough!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the English Inn and it could not have been more perfect! Our guests raved about the food, the grounds and the superior service that was given. Amber, our wedding coordinator, was so professional and helpful from the very beginning until the end. Anything that we missed, she thought of. Rebecca was in charge of our cocktail hour and our reception, and she also was fantastic. She would check in and make sure everything was going well and kept everything moving. All of the staff was very helpful and accommodating and I can't say enough about the beautiful facilities.

Beautiful setting, wonderful staff. The food was great but the drinks were amazing. The server was very knowledgeable and we never felt ignored. Excellent all around.

Wonderful setting. The dinner was amazing! We rented the Ivy Cottage, which has a wonderful charm to it. The dinner staff, and the meal were both amazing. Top notch! The facilities could have been better. The back deck area was surrounded by discarded cigarette butts. While I believe in being able to smoke outside, someone should clean this up are it really detracts from the experience. Similarly, there wasn't enough hot water to fill the Jacuzzi tub, and the built in heater didn't seem to work, so it was lukewarm bubbles at best. This was disappointing also. Another thing: The Inn indicates that you will get free WiFi, but in the cottage you could barely pick up the signal. It was completely unusable, which the staff seemed surprised by. The cable picture was also poor, and many channels were filled with static. Oh! And we had to bring own pillows as they said they only had feather pillows on site. Again, not a show stopper, but odd for a place that bills itself as a luxury getaway. There is no way that we're the only ones with feather allergies! All these things aside, it still had a special charm to it. The Inn itself is amazing, as was the dinner. We really enjoyed the night despite these shortcomings and will consider the Inn for dinner in the future, and perhaps another stay. If the entire experience had lived up to our dining experience, I would have booked a future visit before leaving, to be honest.

Lovely doesn't begin to explain what this place is. It has beautifully appointed rooms. An excellent restaurant serving well above standard fare. To top it off they even have a quaint little bar in the basement. This is the place for a romantic stay. The staff is really nice too!
