Camp here every bridge day. The staff is great. They are funny, helpful, and very friendly. The cabins are great. They have cabins that are just meant to be your sleeping arrangement and it sleeps about 6 or so. More if you don't mind cuddling with your pals. They have larger cabins that are more home-like that also have hot tubs.

There is also a bar on site and they have music playing during the weekends. Don't come here expecting a quiet time.

The only complaint I have is the neighbors to the campground. They have multiple roosters that WILL wake you up at 4:30 am if you camp near that side of campground. I honestly think it's their silent protest against the campground and bar.

If your easily offended, you should probably stay away from here as the locals are rather hickish and they come for the bar that's on the premises. Expect to hear sexist and racial jokes from at least one guy (I see this guy every year and he tells the same unfunny joke every time)

First time white water rafting and this was the most comfortable and amazing experience. I never imagined how cool all the guides are and their uncanny knowledge of the gauley river and surrounding places. I have never felt so safe. Such an amazing experience and cannot wait to go again!!!!

First time ever in West Virginia and rafting. This place is awesome! We had a group of 8. The guys went on the all day trip and us girls Went down the New river. We lived our guide Adam! Such a riot and very informative and eased any fears we had. We laughed so much all day long and had a great time!! Nancy even brought us our breakfast in the morning and the guys had to go up to get theirs haha. Such a great family to talk to! We are already planning on returning soon! Very clean and nice bathrooms and showers. Beautiful landscaping and the cabins are nice even though we stayed in our campers. Felt like home away from home! Thank you Adam for making my first trip so enjoyable! Remeberyou and your family are welcome to our neck of the woods sometime!

An absolute must! My first time rating was amazing. The rafting guides are so much fun and definitely improve the experience even more. Rafting is not for the faint of heart or the fragile though.

Friendly staff! Welcoming owners and staff are a plus. We stayed in the country cabin with our family of 5 and went rafting on the upper new with Aaron. He is exceptionally friendly and upbeat! Lunch was fantastic! I didn't give this place 5 stars for a couple reasons. First, it wasn't overly "family friendly". I expected them to offer more kid friendly activities at the camp ground. The crowd that stays here tends to be young, with older kids/teens and there is a lot of drinking. I recommend place for adults. Second, my young and inexperienced kids weren't given much direction prior to getting into the raft or duckies. As we were on the river they were given some instruction about keeping feet up when they fall out. Scary for a parent! I didn't see them clean any equipment before or after the trip. Otherwise, it was a fun experience!

Planned a motorcycle trip here. Had a great time. Nancy and her husband were great hosts and simply amazing. I would recommend this place to everyone. The rafting guides were great and a lot of fun. Thank you Nancy, her husband and our guide Fish. Thank you all for a great experience. We will be back.

We went last summer and had Stacy as our guide. We had an amazing experience and for the price, you cant beat it. Quiet camping and really nice bar on site. Look forward to going back again this year.

These folks are extremely hospitable and offer a great value adventure. Really good home cooked meals, a variety of camping levels, and fantastic guides for both rivers.

Been camping here since i was a kid. Went rafting with them. There are cabins, and rv sites, as well as tent camping. Showers with hot water. When i was there they had a band come in and play in the little bar they have there. Great long island iced teas! Lol its kid friendly but know that there is a little partying and drinking, nothing too crazy that ive seen! I had a great time rafting. I was too chicken to jump off the rocks with everyone elseguess ill have to go back! My favorite part was the slippery rock slide near the end of the rafting trip! Lunch was provided along the way. It was alot of fun! Going back this June with my family. Hopefully they'll like it as much as i do :) Fayetteville has alot of waterfalls, and trails to hike. I advise spending at least a weekend here, even then its not enough time to see it all! Check out the old mines, its about 10k steps down a mountain, but beautiful place to explore! I dont know all the road names, but theres a diner you MUST TRY, a store that takes you on a tour of a gravity defying area! (Its a mystery!) TONS of caves and waterfalls, and no matter which road you takeyou will find an adventure!

I am sad to have to write this review of Cantrell because I have rafted with them on multiple occasions. The guides are top notch and I've had a great time. Unfortunately, I do not trust their front office to make good on a commitment.
I booked my trip for 9 people and paid up front. I shortly afterward noticed a discrepancy in what I was charged for the cabin with what was advertised online. I emailed them and they replied that they would honor the price listed on their website. The price differential for me was $110. I had already collected the money from my guests at the rate they committed to.
When I emailed after the trip, giving them plenty of time to make good on their promise, it took 10 days and two emails t get a response. She promised to speak to management about getting me a voucher for $60. Notwithstanding that this is not the fair difference or method of compensation I was seeking, she never replied back and has never given me my money back. Worst of all, all of the methods of contact go back to the same individual that was not truthful.

All I wanted was for them to keep the price they promised. I am beyond disappointed.

When I saw the flotilla of boats from one of the big rafting outfits swarming down the river, I thanked my lucky stars I went with Cantrell. In place of hype and slick packaging (and volume herding of clients into profitable fleets, albeit lacking intimacy with the gorgeous river and the guides), we got a one-on-one experience with a single, very proficient guide, aided by an assistant in a kayak. There were only five of us in the boat, not counting the guide, and our boat was mostly alone on the river. Those who signed up with the big outfit, perhaps unbeknownst to the beforehand, were part of a large-group process that lacked intimacy but raked big profits for the owners--they had something more like a carnival ride in an amusement park. We got the real thing. It was the most stupendous outdoor experience of my life. (And our guide was humble enough to take one minor suggestion of mine in good stride at the end of the ride--namely to allow periodic respites from her admittedly informative commentary along the journey.)
