Great place. .location location location ..love the lake and the trains running gave it this cool factor. Lots to do in the area. Owner was so nice. Yes its a little dated but bath house vary clean and the firewood is cheep thanks all
This is the worst campground my boyfriend and I have stayed. If you're looking for a peaceful place, don't come here. We could barely get any sleep because there's a train that passes by every other hour and traffic is non-stop.
Awesome people, the view of the mountain and river is out of this world!! I love this place. I go every year.
Great campground. Owners are swell, the sites are pretty. Right on midland trail, so road noise is a little loud sometimes, but it is not enough to keep me from returning. Nice little camp and bait store, riverside access for kayaks and fishing. Bathrooms are kept up and individual so plenty of privacy. Good prices.
It's so beautiful here. You're right on the river between the mountains. There are ducks and geese to feed. So much fun. There are always fish jumping out of the water and kayakers and fishermen to watch. It's a lively place with almost nightly bonfires and the staff is so nice. Especially the owner Cheryl. She's always giving our dog a doggie cookie. I also like that there is a laundry room with 2 washers and dryers. The spaces are good size and it's a shady place with lots of mature trees. Good central location, too. Right between activities at New River Gorge and attractions around Charleston. We practically live here! 😄😂 It's good to see and hear the coal trains going by across the river! 💛
Great place
Wonderful place very nice trails. Clean area.
We've been going here for several years. Very nice people, look forward to every trip back there.
We pulled in and were guided by the owner to the perfect spot on the river. This was just right for our family- two adults, a teen and a tween. There was a fire ring and a picnic table at our site. Nothing fancy, just right. There is a small playset and a small private beach on the river for kids. Nothing else. It is right on the highway for easy access, but there's a hill to protect kiddos from traffic. Also, we didn't hear any major road noise. There seem to be many long term seasonal renters here. This was the perfect quiet, unplugged getaway. There is no cell service, but the free wi-fi worked well for us. If you are looking for basic and beautiful, this is it.
Such a wonderful scenic campground with a very nice and helpful staff. Our family will be going back!
