Emma wood state beach is an interesting kind of place. First of All it is in 2 different places. It is the last thing on Main St In ventura and the first thing you come to when you take the state beaches exit off 101 north. It is the beginning of the Rincon Pkwy

Fun atmosphere to camp or have a day on the beach. Great place to find sea shells. Calm and relaxing.

First time visiting and loved it. Nice place to chill and wait for sunsets or have a nice walk on the beach. If you don't like sand you can stay in your car and enjoy the beautiful view. They also have a camping ground but it seems small.

Wife and I really like it here, backing our 24 ft truck /camper to look at the waves. Like it a lot better when its not so busy but what's ya gonna do it Thanksgiving week. At least our neighbors nice and quiet.

Personally, I think Emma Wood state beach camping area is OK only because there is no area with sand to go down to, and only rocks which is OK if you like exploring? There's a lot of sea snails and crabs :)

nice beginner spot in the summer if you like to learn kite boarding, but check tide as the beach gets small during high tide, stones/rocks + swell in the winter

Small area, crazy parking. I suggest getting there early and the day is Fabulous. Clean and family area. R.V. camping areas. Nice beach to relax with family for the day. Lifeguard really nice. Perfect for surfboard warriors in their teens and above.

Beautiful view of the ocean. Two different parking areas. Offstreet Parking area overlooking the ocean free day use from 7a.m. to 9 p.m. RV parking down below at beach level available by reservation. Beautiful natural resource. Loved it.

This is a great beach to play in the waves. Depending on the tide there can be a fair amount of beach or just a sliver of dry sand. Parking can be difficult due to its popularity. It is not the easiest beach to get on the sand. Huge rocks that create a seawall can be treacherous and difficult to navigate with your typical beach chairs, cooler and the like. Dogs are allowed on leash.

Nice RV camp ground and beach in Ventura. Opens to a nice stretch along the coast and conveniently near downtown Ventura. Bike path and walking path all closely situated and accessible.

Be aware, read this before staying here - This is a beautiful place to camp, BUT we were robbed in the middle of the night. I might recommend driving further north to find a nice beach.

Apparently, Ventura has a big meth problem, and the locals troll the area looking to steal from you. They wait until the freight train passes in the middle of the night, and they cut locks to steal generators, etc. The really sad part is that the police know this (they explained to me how it works), and don't patrol during that time of night. We even slept with our windows open and there were six large dogs within a 20-foot radius (including our 2 large dogs) and nobody woke up or heard a thing. They hit us and our neighbors.
