Good food. Great price. Questionable service. Not a classy joint just a great greasy spoon

Good food. The 9nly reason it didn't get the five star, was because of the steak being to rare.

I and several members of family went there for dinner tonight (8/7/2017) we were greeted by a very nice young man, who set our table, gave us menus, got our drink orders and then told us the waitress would be with us shortly. Well, we waited over 15 minutes, during which one waitress whizzed by our table and said over her shoulder "I'll be with you in a minute." Then, two more couples came in and were seated. Another waitress came by us and delivered the bill to a table near ours and then proceeded to whiz by us without stopping at our table (or any other table, for that matter!) After another 15 minutes, one of our group went to the front of the restaurant and said to two waitresses (who were figuring out bills) that we were ready to order. We waited 10 minutes more and still no waitress came to our table! However, two other waitresses proceeded to walk past our table and waited on the two other couples who came in after us!! So, since we had been there almost 45 minutes and no one waited on us, we got up and left. So sad because the service used to be very good, but not anymore. If there was some reason the service was backed up or there was a problem somewhere, someone should have come and told us. But they didn't. I won't be going back. So sad! So sad!! Elmer's, please beef up your service!!!

Good home cooked food. Friendly staff. We enjoyed Zachary's burger that came with steak fries and coleslaw, and hot meatloaf sand which with homemade mashed potatoes - and while it comes with coleslaw, I asked for applesauce and it was homemade chunky goodness. We also decided on dessert. Yum on everything!

We went there for a fish fry. The perch was clearly overdone but they still served it. It was so dry we couldn't eat it. I had to get up to tell our waitress since she hadn't come and checked on us at all. They didn't have anymore perch so she took $5.00 off of each meal. The total still came to $43.00 for 3 fish frys and a Mac n cheese for my son. Way to expensive since we all didn't eat very much and left hungry.

Best homemade soups, consistently fresh salad bar, great sandwiches, entrees that remind me of my grandmother's cooking. I almost forgot the pie! Get some pie.

The food was ok, nothing to rave about. The waitress was great and our food was served quickly. What I didn't like was the building is old and well used and very noticeable. The bathroom was another story. If I had went in there before I ordered I may not have stayed.
