  If you wanted peace and quiet, you're going to have it!Want to see a bald eagle while kayaking chances are you will!Kick up some small game while hiking chances are pretty good,my family has been camping in the Hiawatha National Forest over 30 years we love it.

  Clean rooms. Keurig coffee makers in room. Fridge, microwave, walk out balcony, pool, workout room, and breakfast.
  Breakfast was awesome for hotel breakfasts a rating of A++. And I am a fat guy so this is an honest good rating on breakfast.

  We are staying at the Point Iroquois Lighthouse. Having a grand time with the lake and the snow. Nice quarters. And a lighthouse!

  Love the beach area. Restrooms and parking are easy to use and close. We always stop on our way past for a picnic on the tables. There are a few stores to get some fish and cheese after the Mack we get our stuff and celebrate our arrival in the up. Nice memories.

  We visited the falls. Upper & lower. They were beautiful & impressive to watch. The walks to the viewing platforms were manageable for most. For the very energetic.there is a trail connecting the two falls. We went early and avoided much of the crowds.

  This state forest encompasses a huge area of land in the UP, and there are tons are camping parks, trails, lakes, etc. It is beautiful. There are so many sights to see; if you like nature, you could probably spend at least a week here seeing places and hiking.

  So many lakes to fish. It's so enjoyable to fish lakes with no home's. Just you and Mother Nature. The trails system is unique. Don't forget to bring extra gas, some of these trails are long.

  Love Love Love! If you need a camping spot, just show up, pick your spot, and deposit money (usually $18 a night) into the drop box. Sometimes it's packed around summer holidays, but I've always found a spot without reservations. The National Forests provide a deep woods retreat type of campground. Well kept (but rustic), and clean sites, friendly campground hosts, and usually quiet enough to hear nature around you.

  Absolutely beautiful. The drive through Hiawatha made the trip to the UP worth it, even if we had never gotten out of the car.
