Great place if you need a bed and a bathroom for the night or two. Only stayed 1 night, room was moderately clean. I picked the best price in range of Fort Benning and this was it. No complaints about management, breakfast was nice.
For the overall value of this hotel.yes indeed it is a place to stay, I travel a lot! 3 out of 5 stars. Outside needs updating, rooms need new carpet and some mattresses need replaced, but our beds and pillows were very comfortable. no weird smells in rooms. no mold or mildew. sheets were crisp as were our blanket. no bedbugs, no bugs. water pressure lower than I like, but average. Typical continental breakfast, and they served real chocolate chips with their waffles!
Not to keen on the security aspect, I never once saw a police car the days we were there.
If you grew up poor, and are not picky, this is your place to stay..However, if you prefer the 'finer' things, go to the expensive hotels. IN MY TRAVELS, I have found the cheaper hotels are more friendly, and more comfortable than those finer hotels. I once stay at the HILTON, and there was mold everywhere on the 8th floor! That ruined any further Hilton experience for us!
Excellent customer service. No hassle when reserving the room. The room was very clean and comfortable. This was my security ND time staying at this particular location and I enjoyed it. It was very peaceful for me. The staff members were very kind and courteous.
Please, please, PLEASE, stay away from this hotel!!!!! I truly can not say enough bad things about our stay there. We were sadly disappointed when we checked into our room to find a terrible dirty smell greet us that was musty and smokey. Then found a dirty shower-bathtub and toilet. The sink and mirror were also filthy. The curtain was also broken, and the icing on the cake was a big (pubic) hair on the bed, which by the way have no bed spread only sheets and a light blanket. We complained and were given another room only to be greeted with a cockroach crawling around on the floor this time. Thankfully this room was cleaner, but only just a bit better. We could not go someplace else because they don't do refunds when you book your room online. In the other room we encountered problems as well. Our TV would not work, (they did fix it) and our room key never worked right causing us to have to go up to the front desk several times. I will have to say that the people who worked their were nice and did try to help, but this hotel is very run down and dirty. Unless you want that please stay away!
This place has some of the sweetest staff members. The pool was great for family time.the beds are comfortable and we will come back if we ever need to. GREAT PLACE!!!
It's just outside of the main gate for Benning. It was perfect for our family of four to hang out together for the weekend, and be so class to base. The hotel rooms are simple but perfectly fits the basic necessities (mini fridge, microwave, wifi, surplus of TV channels, & continental breakfast). It isn't fancy, but it gets the job done. Also, Commando (the military store) is in walking distance. We will likely stay here again if we come to Ft Benning for another weekend stay.
BEWARE DO NOT STAY HERE!! Power went out and management abandoned the hotel. They claim they were on the property but no one was there or we would've seen a flashlight somewhere. It was literally pitch black. There were no flood lights, nothing. There was absolutely no wind, just some light rain that caused the power outage. They took advantage of people fleeing from the Hurricane in Florida by price gouging as well. There was also never any milk for the cereal at their free breakfast. Also the first night we were there before the power went out we asked if they had any extra blankets and we were told no. A little bit later we asked someone else and they brought us three extra blankets.
This place isn't so bad if you just need a place to for a quick stop. My boyfriend and I stayed here for an army graduation. The women who checked us in was super nice, and the continental breakfast wasn't so bad. My only fuss was with the room. First, there was a stain on the comforter, then thje microwave cancel button didn't work, and a bug in the bath towels. I'm sure the stain is an old one that wouldn't come out. The bug I can't say anything for. Over all it's not so bad, just needs better cleaning and maintenance.
After a terrible few hours (disgusting room, dingy linen that didn't even match, terrible smell, filthy shower, mattress that should've been burned 2 years ago) at the Colony Inn (do not, I repeat, do NOT waste your money there) I chose the Econo Lodge based on affordability, convenience to post, & previous guests reviews. I called early & asked if there were anyway they could do an early check-in so i could get out of the other place. I spoke with Stephanie, & she was amazingly accommodating. She was able to have me in a room just a couple hours later. Being so close to Fort Benning, they are incredibly military friendly & affordable. The rooms are a little dated but still comfortable, clean & well maintained. Being in housekeeping myself, I understand the stress of an early (anything prior to 3pm) arrival & I want to extend appreciation and gratitude to the entire staff for everything. Without a doubt, next time I'm in Columbus & need a place to stay, this Econo Lodge will be at the top of my list. Thanks again ya'll!!
Front desk person pleseant.. Room clean.. Very comfortable with no issues. Not crowded for a holiday ..more than what I expected from past experiences with economy lodge.. I recommend staying as well as being prepared for (questionable taxes)..
Dirty, smelly and in a bad area. Though the staff were welcoming the hotel itself is run down. Don't bother
The room was ok for the price. The young lady at the front desk was awesome in accommodating the thing I wanted/needed at the last minute which made the stay better than it would have been otherwise. Thank you Tory.
Rooms were clean, beds were uncomfortable. Breakfast is free, but limited and unhealthy. Overall, price was right, and rooms were clean.
I didn't spend the night here, but visited a friend who had a room. The outdoor pool was small, but well maintained. The room was furnished better than I expected for a budget motel. I believe my friend paid around $60 for the night. I've paid higher rates for worse rooms before. If I have the occasion to travel to Fort Benning again, I would definitely stay here.
