I was in the hotel to vote in the special elections. It felt a bit more like a motel than a hotel, but everything was clean. I didn't interact with any staff or see any rooms.

This is my voting precinct. It's always extremely lively on election day (most votes in Auburn). I have never used the hotel as a hotel, but as a voting precinct it is great and can accommodate a lot of people quickly.

May daughter and I stayed at The Clarion on 1577 S. College St, Auburn, Al. It was evening when we arrived and there were 3 men sitting in their cars and we were afraid to get out of the car. Went to the office and reported that 3 cars each with a man were sitting in the vacinity of our room. The clerk assured us we were safe. As we drove back to our room, a man came out of the room directly above our room, and one of the men sitting in his car, got out and went into the room that the other man had just left. This happened all night long. One man would leave and another would go up to the room. Evidently, this location is being used by either one prostitute or several. The cars coming and going all night made it impossible to sleep. CHOOSE ANOTHER HOTEL! DO NOT STAY HERE. The pictures of the Clarion are deceiving. It is must older than it looks on line. Water in the tub would not drain out. I really wouldn't even give this hotel one star. As we checked out, I told the manager about the activities in the room right above ours, and he made no apology whatsoever.

Ok, this is my first one out of five. This place was awful. Outdated, dirty, and not managed well. The website misinformed and downright fraudulently advertised this place. We were so disappointed. Thank goodness we only had to be here for 12 hours otherwise we would have left. There are plenty of other choices in Auburn and even though this place may be a few dollars cheaper it is not worth staying here. Spend the few extra dollars to not feel like you are sleeping with bed bugs.

Pretty bad. Walking in the smell was a little funny. Seeing the sink I realized why. Sewage backup. If I had rolled in any earlier, I would have talked to the desk about a refund or new room.but it was 2 am and I was tired. Let them know about it as I checked out. Outlets were few and far between. Don't expect a place to power up a laptop near the desk.

From the outside it's a nice motel. I visited with my swim team on an away trip. Everything outside looks well kept up from a distance, when you get closer is when the problems start. The water of the fountain out front was practically green. The walkways were cracked. But this stuff could be easily overlooked. So going inside, the concierge was nice, and the lobby looked decent and colorful, so I had hope it would be good inside.
We ate lunch in an upstairs "restaurant" the that looked more like a conference room than a restaurant. We had to put the tablecloths on ourselves (with some help from the manager) to cover the scratched up wooden tables.
Going to the rooms, we found that the beds were twin sized, and being four to a room, that wasn't going to work (I slept by spreading out on two chairs and a stack of suitcases). Of the three lamps, only one worked, the other was practically a strobe light. And of the three outlets in those lamps, only one worked. The only other working one was behind the chair I slept in. The ceiling had a steady supply of water dripping from the ceiling. The sinks were stained with algae. The ceiling was low and the material scraped off when I brushed my hand against it where it wasn't already peeling. And the shower had a dust-filled vent at eye-level. Needless to say, staying here was already not an appealing prospect. But that's just the room.
One housekeeper refused to clear the room when we arrived. The other housekeeper offered very little help as well.
So now we really didn't want to stay and told our coaches as much. Everyone else had had relatively the same experience, and so there was a general consensus we should probably leave. But out of pure necessity and lack of a better option, we decided to grin and bear it, at least until dinner.
The last straw of this was dinner later that evening, when we got catering from an Italian restaurant. The hotel had no part in this, but when a few of my friends and I decided to walk around after dinner. When we happened upon a kitchen that looked like the setting for a horror movie, we decided to approach it as anyone aware of being in a horror movie should, and get out (ha ha).
Unfortunately circumstances forced us to stay the night and that was the most terrifying night of my life, unsure if we were going to wake up to a housekeeper wearing a clown mask and brandishing a bloody axe. Needless to say, upon waking up, we did not return, and went to the much nicer Home2 Suites. If anyone is in this area, I much recommend that instead, as it's only a little further away and from my research about $50 less per night.
I would give this 0 stars but Google doesn't seem to want to give me the power to completely destroy businesses.

Nice place. Basic hotel. Didn't eat breakfast or anything. TV was big. Kinda loud near the pool but my room was near the front. Super nice staff.

Hotel needs to be remodel.I should have took the reviews in consideration.This hotel is a motel that people off the street live at.I came to bring my son for a college visit.It is so nasty, they tried to change our room to A room that smell like a cigarette factory and missing tile. In the bathroom where do they do that at. Manager no help.I need to call them and tell them to take it off exploria website it is horrible.It is run down. Going to the doctor do to the dust and mold closest planning on sueing them because this needs to be put to a ✋.

Using the tv show "Hotel Impossible " as a guide, this is what i found.
1. Floor needed steam cleaned. It smelled of musty oders.
2. The furnishings were fron the 70/80's
3. Thefurnishings were worn to show age.
4. Went to plug in my cell phone charger in receptical were hair dryer is located. It triped the gfi. Then when i puld the plug from the socket it pull it out of wall.
5 this is a 2nd floor room. Has had water damage in the ceiling and has been painted several times but not fixed. Could have mold there.
6. The electrical plugs built into lamps don't work for charging.
7. Lifting the matress on one bed. Found either a baby dead roach or bed bug. Dont know.
8. While walking around property. There was water on walk way. Could cause a slip. Looks like it was seeping from inside of wall.
9. Lobby furnishings are like in the room. Don't now when this place was last remodeled?.
10. Had a busy Saturday morning for breakfast. Had to use some extra round tables. Bare wood. No coverings to hid bare wood. Poor taste and don't how it its been cleaned.
Also the coffee cabinets shows its ware and tare.
11. I feel for what I paid $159 a night, i feel motel 6 or a no name is what i paid for. Not a good fussy feeling. I usually stay at Hampton Inn. Never gave them bad rewiews.
12. Would i stay again. No!

The staff was really nice here but the place is really run down and the ground floor carpets seem soggy. My AC didn't really cool. It wasn't bad but I found another Choice hotel for my return trip and it was much nicer.
