  My experience with him was excellent Very helpful and friendly staff Very little waiting time Dr Medina was available immediately Excellent bed side manner Both he and the staff were able to engage my wife who has dementia The fact that he is Spanish speaking helped a great deal Extremely knowledgeable and excellent diagnostician I recommend him very highly !

  I received the recommendation for this office through a list of providers from my insurance company. I scheduled a general consultation appointment where an eye exam and brief discussion with Dr. Medina occurred. Prior to the appointment at sign-in, I provided verification of my insurance details and was not told of any issues. At the end of the appointment, however, Dr. Medina personally came back into the exam room to warn me that my insurance is terrible and that the resultant charge for the day would be exceptionally high. When I went to make the payment it was, $520 for a general appointment and antibiotic script. I made the payment and then immediately called my insurance after leaving. They informed me that the office should have submitted a claim prior to the appointment so they could not see what was claimed yet. When I called the office back to explain this, Dr. Medina got back on the line and explained to me that because he prefer not to deal with retrieving claims from insurance companies, he charges the full cash rate up front and then reimburses after - a practice I’ve never experienced in both general and specialty clinical care. Nonetheless, despite persistent efforts by my and insurance company and me, Dr. Medina’s office has made no efforts to return me the money I am rightfully owed, $405. His medical billers continue to sit on their hands when contacted by my insurance company and me. I have been told multiple times that “the main biller has been out for awhile, she will get to it when she gets back.” It seems Dr. Medina thinks the burden of retrieving insurance payments is below his clinical care, though he cannot be bothered to step-up when he is on the other side of the equation. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR IF YOU LIKE TO OVERPAY FOR BASIC CLINICAL CARE AND NEVER BE REIMBURSED.

  My first interaction Dr. Medina was very accommodating. I had a real problem with my eye and he saw me the following day. Once I became a patient I felt as if all he wanted to do was make unnecessary appointments. My last 3 appointments with him were disappointing. I do not mind the occasional wait but after 45 min and not even being brought in from the waiting area I had to stress the the staff that my extended wait was unacceptable. It was nearly and hour wait. This became a pattern. I actually called ahead to verify on my next appointment if he was running on time and they said yes. Well, he was no where near on time. I decided that my next appointment would be his first appointment in the morning, 8AM. I was there, the staff was not. They opened at 8:05 am and asked me to wait a few min for the Doctor. After 30 min he was not in the office. I had to be at work and left. I gave 2 stars because the staff was friendly.

  I took my elderly mom to see Dr Medina. I was able to get an appointment quickly and did not have to wait when we got there. He was very patient, he took time trying different approaches to do the exam, when one approach was not possible. He explained everything well and presented all options. I would use him again and highly recommend him.

  Dr Medina was so helpful to me, he goes above and beyond to ensure you understand all of your results from eye tests. He answered all of my questions and I left feeling confident that I’ve found a great doctor. I would highly recommend him and I’ll be back to see him.
