Really nice people here my daughter really enjoyed herself. Lots of great and reasonably priced gifts and souvenirs to buy. Loved learning so much New things from the tour. Coming back next trip

Good place for people who like fossils and dinosaurs. You can walk up the ridge for free. Or you can pay to take the tour bus and walk in the museum. The walk isn't hard, but I think the bus tour is worth while just to get a little color on the displays. Without context they might seem a little boring. Also, it's nice to have a tour guide to ask questions. Also, it's a nice way of supporting them financially so that we can preserve this area. Quick fact: this is the site of the first stegosaurus ever found. The stegosaurus is Colorado's state fossil.

A really beautiful place and so full of history! It was so fun learning about what happened in that spot millions of years ago. Plus it's FREE if you don't mind walking. A bus tour is only $6 though. Plus make sure you follow the signs on the road because sometimes the directions are confusing.

I only got to do the ridge walk. It's an easy enough trail. Fully paved. I liked the history and the geological sites. I trust that some of dinosaur impressions are real but some aren't exactly easy to make out. They require a bit of imagination. There's a bit of incline. Still a very cool site to visit.

Dinosaur ridge is a great relatively quick tour stop. It's not far off the I-70 or C-470 if you are passing through the Golden area. The tour bus option is informative and easier to see both sides of the ridge with kids. There are however some awesome things to see within a short walk up the hill.
The exhibit hall and gift shop are also nice and pricing is very reasonable.response / report this review -

Enjoyed our visit here. We opted for the guided tour and we were not disappointed. Our guide was personable and very knowledgeable. It was hot the day we went or we would have opted to take the tour and then walk back as there are many interesting things to see that are not stops on the tour. It's definitely worth the stop for anyone who interested in dinosaurs.

This is a wonderful place. The information here is spectacular, and seeing specimens of paleontology while still in the rock is unique and engaging. The informational signs are abundant, the trail is not difficult, and the gift shop/resource centers are quaint but worth the squeeze inside to soak up more of the science and to buy a novelty tee. Highly recommend it for children and nerds alike.

Great place. It is hard to find. We ended up going from the discovery plaza to the Visitors Center. I would recommend starting at the Visitors Center. If it is a hot day you may want to consider the guided tours, which are on buses. If you have younger children or toddlers starting at the Visitors Center will allow you to see the biggest attraction (the foot prints) in the easiest way. The reasons for not giving them five stars is because of the difficult time trying to find them. There needs to be better labeled signs and directions. Also, the bathrooms at the Visitors Center we're out houses with sinks to the left of the building but the discovery plaza had two regular bathrooms. I would have personally preferred them the other way around. However, I do think Dinosaur Ridge is worth a look. It is a great educational spot and the small hike is worth the view. Remember to bring water and sun screen.

This place was truly wonderful! We had a great time! Our geologist tour guide Dino Dan was super nice, informative, and answered any questions asked.
I would definitely recommend paying the $8 to do the bus tour, especially with children. It was also great to have the guide be able to teach and explain the history of the region and animals that were once here.
On a side note, they do have restrooms and a little stand that sells snacks and drinks.response / report this review -

This was a great place to take kids and for adults to enjoy! Not a huge place, but one that is more hands on with "discoveries" for the kids. You can hike up the mountain and stop off at the sites where there are footprints, bones etc or take the bus with a tour guide. Very happy with the tour guide (in the bus) and his knowledge of dinosaurs and the discovery of bones. Staff was very helpful, nice, and knowledgeable too. My kids ages 7, 5, 3, 1 had a great time, particularly the older 2, and thought it was the best place to go for our family outing. Highly recommend for people without kids too!

This is a great place to take your little one who is dinosaur obsessed. While adults will likely become bored my kids loved being able to actually touch everything they looked at. The only places blocked off were dangerous bits, but other than that kids can touch the footprints, bones, and the like freely. The tour is informative and the guides are more than happy to field any questions. There is a picnic area and bathrooms, gift shop, and a small museum where kids can keep touching and interacting. Well worth the $$ for my two inquisitive ones.

This is a wonderful local treasure that too few know about or utilize. I bought the family membership and we love it! The tour guides are knowledgeable professionals. Dino Dan today was very in the know about Geology and explained how there was something there to interest everyone. Old rocks, fossils, and plants. The scenery is amazing and it's so close to the city. The learning center is hands on and interactive, and they can dig for and keep a fossil of their choice from the sand box and a volunteer will label and bag it. I found this local gem last year for museum week and took my youngest son and niece, they are 6 and loved it, my 10 year old loves it too. It's definitely an all ages opportunity, I highly recommend it.

Absolutely beautiful, fascinating, one of a kind spot. Definitely one of my "happy places". Dinosaur ridge is perfect for anyone from paleontologists to hikers to someone just looking for quiet spot to relax. Suitable for all ages as well. There's also a wonderful little museum at the base of the ridge. Go support this beautiful landmark but remember to be respectful! :)
