Really good, fresh beef. Didn't have any of the fish but I heard it was great. Really kind waitresses, food gets done quick. Only problem is the price, most things won't even be under 35$.
I had dinner here last night with a good friend. Service was perfect. Food was fresh, well prepared and delicious. Ambiance was warm and friendly. Maybe the people that didn't like this place are just sour in general. This is a can't miss stop in downtown Akron. I'll be back and I'm bringing my friends.
Not great. Bread was cold, butter was colder. Salad was iceberg swimming in very tasty dressing, but too much of a good thing. French onion soup was a bit bland, maybe the biggest let down of the evening. My $35 swordfish was gross and I know and love a well prepared blackened swordfish. Worked in 2 amazing seafood restaruants in Chicago while in college and this was so dry and tasted burnt not blackened. I literally ate 2 bites, probably should have sent it back and my basic baked potato was cold. My husband's chops were to die for which is the only reason for the 2 stars. The servers were very good. Bill with tip $125 I have paid more many times, but in all of those cases had a much better meal. The place is cool too, too bad, we probably wont go back. I would suggest getting with the times a bit and cater to 30+ age group for longevity sake.
I could not possibly give this one star but I have to write about this. I just went there for lunch. I've been the 4-5 times in the last 5 months. Today I was thrown out after ordering by a guy who is apparently the former owner. This guy named Teddy came over to my table and accosted the guy I was eating lunch about a $15.00 bill for a 2 beer tab 3 years ago. He told us we could not eat there and went and cancelled my lunch order. The servers who knew me attempted to intervene. They told me he had did not own the place but they couldn't do anything about this. In 35 years as an adult -worst I have ever been treated - anywhere.
Always a classic. Great food, nostalgic atmosphere and the service is always laid back but on point.
Great wine and exceptional gourmet menu options - wonderful service
We've been going to the Diamond Grille for years and it's the finest place to eat in Akron hands down. Old school, stuck in time, high quality steaks and seafood prepared simply and cooked perfectly. Service is outstanding, owner is friendly, ambiance cannot be beaten. Lunch is all made from scratch, changes daily and is more affordable than a chain restaurant. Dinner can get pricey depending on how much you order, but you get A LOT of food. If you live in the area, make the Grille one of your haunts. If you're visiting, don't miss it.
Any person who leaves positive remarks for this rat hole needs a conversation with a mental professional. "BEST STEAKS IN AKRON?"
This says nothing. THERE ARE NO "GOOD STEAKS" IN AKRON ! This is a dump and it has been for over fifty years. Been there twice, as a guest of others. Thank goodness i do not live in Akron, the armpit of Ohio.
UPDATE JUNE 2017.CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP. GOOD RIDDANCE TO THE OLD OWNERS (BROTHERS WHO INHERITED THE BUSINESS FROM THEIR DADDY) CLEAN THE DUMP UP AND MAYBE IT WILL EARN BETTER REVIEWS, TREASURE YOUR CUSTOMERS, DO NOT THINK THEY ARE BEHOLDING TO YOU!
We had dinner with friends last night and had a wonderful experience from the time we were greeted to our server who was very helpful and knowledgeable with the menu! Starting with a great bread selection and cold butter, the steaks were cooked to order along with baked potatos. Excellent from beginning to end!
The energy in this unique restaurant was "Time Well Spent" with friends!!!
Everything about this place was perfect. Water glasses were always full. The food was PERFECTLY cooked. Service couldn't have been better. I highly recommend the scallops.
My husband and I were here on Friday for Valentines and were very disappointed in our seafood dishes. My husbands Sea bass was overcooked. I ordered the small plate of shrimp and scallops. For $20 I got 2 shrimp and 2 scallops over very bland polenta. We are wondering if the steaks are better but can't endorse the seafood at
Service was great only because our server was great. Everything else was sub par. They do not take credit cards which it says nothing about that on their website. No ATM in the building because they are going for an old time feel, but yet they have a TV where the owner or manager sits there the whole time. They were not welcoming when you walk in the door because of this. The wine was good. The bread came out cold and over salted. We Got two steaks which were not seasoned at all and tasteless. Waited for salad and then rushed for entree. Dirty bathrooms. Just not a place I would reccomend to anyone and especially someone looking for a fine dining experience.
This place is awful. The steak is terrible, literally not seasoned at all, overpriced and underdone. If you aren't a regular then eff you pretty much. This old dude that owns this place needs to get in the now with the lack of customer server and the servers attire. There are two good things about this placethe bread and the home fries. If you want to pay $44 IN CASH or CHECK for bread and potatoes be my guest. They don't take cards and they do not have an ATM. Worst $125 I've ever spent and I'd spend triple that on an actual good steak.
