I can't say enough great things about these guys!! I picked up my 2003 Suzuki Katana from a shop in N. Carolina that had had it for 5 months. I bought it used & previous owner dumped it. so it needed a complete inspection, tires, new fairings installed, turn signals & tail light wired & mounted. 1/2 way back from N. Carolina we stopped and noticed things were lose, put on wrong or just not done at all!! I took it straight to Del's and in just a couple days it was done right at 1/4 of what the N.Carolina shop charged me!! They went above and beyond with my bike to make sure it was safe and in excellent riding condition. I will recommend them to everyone!
I have 2 motorcycles(both are in Del's pics)which I only let Gary and Bear work onone is a all carbon fiber zx10 with rgb's and fully customized and was built from a rolling chassis up all by Del'sthe other is a 2007 zx14 with a turbo kit in which Del's installed does all mechanical work on and would not trust no one else to even touch it..have also had some head work done recently by Vance and Hines thru Del's and gotta say she's quicker than ever..thnx for the great work will most definitely be doing future business
The quality of work isn't bad but it took FIVE WEEKS for me to get my bike back. They promised a couple of times when the bike would be ready and it wasn't. Not only that the only reason I ever knew anything was because I had to call them. He fully admitted that it was because it wasn't fun to work on, but seriously, five weeks to clean carbs, replace battery, and some other basic things? Too much.
I had them order a front tire for my '85 Lowrider. The tire arrived on time, and they mounted and balanced it in a timely fashion. Everyone seemed friendly and knowledgeable.
I brought my 94' Yamaha Virago 750 in for an oil change and rear tire replacement in April of 2014. Reasonable prices but it took forever (8 business days and about $ 370). After a while of riding it, the bike would start dying on me while riding it and it wouldn't even turn over like it wasn't getting any electricity but it clearly was. I thought it might have been something electrical or carb issue, so I took it back and asked for a diagnostic and for them to put on some new Vance pipes I was looking at. Diagnostic showed that it was the carbs and I told them to clean them and order and install the new pipes, plus jet the carbs (20 business days/ 4 weeks for $1000).
I pick up the bike and it's still dying on me, but now the lights are dying on me too as well as there was a small oil leak at the bottom of the engine (near a neutral electrical cable was) so I take it back and they tell me its the starter button housing as well as some gaskets need to be replaced, I figured this would be a good time to get the front tire replaced as well. ( $530 and about a week and a half). I pick up the bike this week, it rides fine for about 25 miles and then starts dying on me again and surprise it's still leaking on top of that, now the oil light is on about 50% while I was riding it(even though they topped it off). It's mid July and this summer is nearly gone and so is my savings.
At this point, I don't want to take it back because I feel they aren't competent enough to repair a problem that I didn't have until I took it into these guys. On the other hand, I paid for this service and it hasn't been fulfilled. I will get the repair but never take it back after this.
They may be good at some things, but they definitely aren't good at fixing older bikes or diagnosing problems. Honestly I wouldn't care about how long it took if it was just done right.
Update: I took it back to them for the last time and they fixed the leak and I took it home, the next day it wouldn't start. It will turn over but never fires up, thoroughly disappointed. I ended up buying a new motorcycle because no one will work on an older motorcycle and I will not take it back to this swindler for them to steal more money from me.
Del goes above and beyond. Invests in the long term with his clients, not just the job at hand.
