We've always had great experiences here, whether for a concert, stand up comedy, drinks, dinner, lunch, or jazz brunch. Crescent Ballroom is always an enjoyable experience. We also love all the cool events they host. Tonight was the menorah lighting for Hanukkah, but we've enjoyed Motown on Mondays and many other cool events in the past as well. Those donuts, too :)
Awesome venue! Decent drink prices, and amazing artists. Drove from Austin, Texas to Phoenix for a show here, it was so intimate and lovely, and such a great crowd. Much different than what I'm used to, but I would most definitely go back. I think I will fly next time, though.
Crescent is always a lot of fun. I go there primarily for the Sunday night trivia. It's a popular music venue, and it has a good food and drink menu. Definitely one of downtown's hotter venues.
Fantastic venue with excellent acoustics and people running sound that know their stuff. Multiple bars, outdoor patio, kitchen offering some very tasty looking grub. I just saw Band Of Heathens and Hayes Carl and it was probably the best show I've ever seen.
Had the opportunity to see Thee Commons at The Crescent Ballroom. They were AWESOME!!! The venue was great. The stage is large enough to accommodate just about any lineup. The staff was friendly and the food is good. I hope that this little treasure thrives as it brings such wonderful talent to the valley. I plan on returning a often as possible.
I must say that customer service at Crescent Ballroom is not a priority for the manager or her staff. After making the bartender aware that the person in front of me cut in line, I proceeded to give her my order. As soon as I broke eye contact with her to let my friend next to me know she was ready to take her order, the bartender rudely stopped serving me and took the order from the person who cut in front of me. I clearly brought to her attention that I was giving her my order when she stopped giving me her attention and boldly took the order of the person who cut in line. The bartender told me I was not giving her my order fast enough so she just took the next order in the middle of my own. I decided to talk to the manager about how rude her bartender was to me and my friend. She told me she could do nothing about what happened. She told me that they are very busy and her staff has to move fast. I let her know that I would at the very least like an apology from the bartender. She told me she can't do that because she can't "Mother" her and make her apologize. Eventually she offered to have the bartender talk with me. I again let the bartender know that as a former bartender myself, good customer service is essential for your business. This bartender had been taking my friends drink order all night long. For her to say that I was taking too long to order does not justify her behavior. When I served customers all night long, I pretty much knew their drink preference. I was very clear with my message to her and very precise when the manager of the club interrupted me and demanded that I "Stop yelling". It's a bar. It is loud. I was not yelling, however my tone was a bit sharp and my inflection was stern, but I was not yelling at anyone. I wanted my message to be received without misunderstanding. The manager continued to interrupt me while I was talking to the bartender. The bartender eventually did apologize, but I then had an issue with the manager insisting that I stop yelling. I continued to remind her I was not yelling, I was projecting my voice so both she and the bartender could hear me. I decided to end my evening and make my exit early. I will not return to this establishment in the future. I will also stop recommending this venue to family and friends
The bean dip was super. Salad tasted a little fishy but we ate it it regardless. Visited for hip hop night a while back and the air conditioning in the ballroom was non-existent. It was horrid. Still a fun place to go to.
Such a unique venue! Went here to see a performance I was already dying to see, and was so surprised by how beautiful the venue was. I was expecting your average sort of 'ballroom,' 'concert hall,' whatever you want to call itno. Something about this place gives it the most enchanting vibe. From the outside at night, it just looks magical. I'd definitely go here again -- even if I didn't know who was performing!
The food, drinks and entertainment here are great! Drinks are priced on the higher side, but I think you get your money's worth in alcohol. The shows are always phenomenal. We have been to dozens of small local, and not so local, bands here. You get a very intimate view. There are no bad seats. There is a 600 person capacity. Wonderful!
Far and away one of the coolest venues in town. Small enough for an intimate show but can still hold a big crowd. Sound is top notch, staff is great, food is awesome at the restaurant as well. Bartenders are friendly.
Good food, excellent seating areas, very open. Love the live music available. Service on the top patio wasn't the greatest, a little spotty as they had just one server for the entire area but he was an awesome server. The Enchiladas on the menu are really good, the tacos are just decent. All in all, an awesome.place to kick back and ensure the sunset.
Best music venue in Phoenix. Sound and atmosphere are amazing. Very interesting and diverse shows throughout the week. The food in the front room is great for lunch or dinner. Patio has a second level that gives a great ambiance to enjoy a drink or dinner.
I have visited 4 times now on Saturday evening to watch the live Flamenco performance that is from 6pm-8pm. It's awesome - easily the best and most affordable venue for live music in Phoenix. The food is great as well - tacos and burritos. Very well priced and great taste. Arrive early to get a seat, the Flamenco is in the front lounge area that is smaller and more intimate.
Very much enjoyed coming here to watch Highly Suspect. The venue was great for live music and small so it was intimate so you could feel like you are getting an extra special experience. i also very much enjoyed the bar area. The bartenders were quick, friendly, the patrons were young and hip, but also friendly and happy to share a table at it's peak busy hours and the drinks were reasonably priced. $5 for a well cocktail on a Saturday night, while it's packed during a rad show? I'll take it! thanks for the good time, I'll be back!
