We broke down en route to Pennsylvania from Nashvillenothing worse than being stranded in a strange town far away from home. The guys at Cowans got us in first thing in the morning. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and reasonably-priced! 10/10 would recommend to all.

Called to see if they could do a heater core flush on my 2013 Nissan NV3500 (easy access to lines) and was told upon giving them the vehicle info, they wouldn't work on it. I asked why and the answer was "just don't". That was really a good answer without explaining why they "just don't".
Would I consider any future work on any of my vehicles with this company? Probably not based on the answer I got which makes it look like they are Cherry-picking the work they want. If the owner wants to reply, then great! I would like a better answer Lack of proper equipment, etc is better than the answer I got over the phone.response / report this review -

If your looking for a honest, well trained, thorough, mechanic, Phil and crew at Cowan automotive on West state is your place. I have 4 cars from a 1998-2008 and Phil keeps them all on the road. He has diagnosed problems from timing belt off one tooth to a receiver hitch ready to crack right before a trip to Florida. I won’t go anywhere else. Your next car problem, give Cowan Auto on west state street a call.

Phil and his staff are first class. His diagnostic services are the best in Bristol. Unlike other mechanics, he usually has our vehicles serviced in a day or two. We won’t be taking our cars anywhere else! Give them a try!

I had an issue with my car. Took it to Cowans and they ran a diagnostic check with their machine. They were able to figure out what it was and fix the problem. Not only was it fixed but it was done in a timely manner so I could get back to my long list of things to do. Thanks for the great service. Super friendly!

I was told, "You should just take your shi* and go the fuc* home!".
My AC pressure was too high, so Cowans offered to remove all refrigerant & refill to oem standard. Now the AC pressure is even higher. When I confronted them about this, the mgr was explaining what was happening when one of the workers puffed his chest out &said, "You should just take your shi* and go the fuc* home!". This review would be a 1 were it not for the mgr, who apologized & explained my car's situation in more detail to me. Not happy, but it seems the work performed was on par with what you'd expect from an auto mechanic.response / report this review
