Well. After taking my car back to Pataskala's Coughlin because they were conveniently 2 minutes away from me , they parked my car outside and left it unlocked. YesI should have taken out everything after my accident but I assumed they would lock my car. I had items taken from my car. When I addressed it with them, they started defending their employees in saying that they would never take anything from my car and they had to mention that they have no longer had an issue of leaving drugs in people's car. I had to tell him that is was great to hear that they no longer leave drugs in customers' cars. Wow LOL
Of course, they put the blame solely on myself and back it up by saying that the items that were taken would be of no use to anyone. I don't disagree that I should not have left items in my car but don't you expect that they would lock your car while it's in their possession? If the window was busted then I would understand and it would have been because of my actions.
Bottom line every time I take my car there I have an issue. They don't act with any sense of urgency and their business model isn't what they reflect in their advertising.
My wife and I are car shopping at this point but will never deal with Coughlin. In fact, I'm am spreading the word about my dealings with them and I will continue to go out of my way to not only spread the word but I will travel an hour to spend our money with a company that cares about their customers.
UPDATE: I wanted to post an update on this review to show that Mr. Davis and his team contacted to help in resolving this issue.
I received a call from Mr. Pat Davis to inquire on the review posted below. I explained in further detail my experiences and he made a sincere effort to help in "earning trust" in the company. He offered to take my car and look at the issue described and gave me a loaner during that time. Some minor repairs were made (at the dealership's expense) and I now have my car with no issues.
I called him the next day to thank him for taking the time to call and make the attempt to resolve, what could have been, a very bad situation.
I do appreciate what Mr. Davis, and his team has done but this could've been done a long time ago if the Collision Repair Mgr would've consulted with upper management on what they could've done at that moment. A "sweep it under the rug" approach is never a good tactic especially in that line of business. Regardless of his approach I do applaud Pat and the team for taking the necessary steps to what needs to be done. With that I feel that I need to at least offer a better rating.

This place is one of the worst dealerships I have encountered. I got some body work done several months ago and an employee left drugs in my car while cleaning it. The manager said "it was a silly little mistake" and I shouldn't let that affect my decision to do business with them in the future. With my line of work that silly little mistake could've cost me my job.
A few weeks back I had a recall on my car and thought that since that was a different department I would be ok I asked them to look at another issue to see if they could fix the problem. I got the recall done and then 1 day later my passenger side rear turn signal stopped working and I'm still trying to find the issue.
Sadly enough, I live 2 minutes away but I will travel 2 hours, if needed, to buy our next vehicle next spring.
Just Purchased My second Vehicle in Eric in sales really goes the extra Mile for you And Keith the Finance Manager will get you in a Quality vehicle no matter what your circumstances, really comfortable dealing with these guys. Thanks guys
Do not buy a vehicle from them they will lie and tell you stuff was done to it when it hasn't been done to it also a year ago I bought a 2011 silverado they said everything was checked out on it well apparently it wasn't because within not even 4 or 5 months all the brakes were completely shot on it when I barely even drive it I'm no expert but brakes are not going to wear out that quickly because they were probably already bad to begin with that cost me 1900 dollars just be prepared to be lied to and be taken advantage of
Awesome customer service when it comes to sales and service! I've purchased three cars from here and absolutely love the staff!
I have purchased trucks here three times, 2008, 2015, and 2017. Each time, they were fair, honest, and efficient. This last time, I went to pick up the truck I ordered. I gave all of my financing info to the salesman and I was only there for less than an hour before leaving with my new truck.
Great dealership, awesome mechanics and employees. They offer fair prices and good deals on new and used cars.
Have bought 3 new and 1 pre-owned vehicles since 2008 from Coughlin in Pataskala. Very friendly staff who were able to work with us to work out payments that we could afford. Have also had quality body work done after a minor fender bender. Though they are a 20 minute drive from the east side of Columbus, I confidently recommend them to anyone in the market for a car. Ask for Kevin (Salesman) or John (Sales Mgr).
Bought a Yukon contingent on the AC being fixed. Jacked me around and charged it three times instead of fixing the problem. Finally they had to pull the cab to replace a rear AC line. Car smelled like gas after they did that. Took it back in and they told me it would be over $1500 dollars to replace the gas lines, and fuel pump. Common sense and 4 years as a Marine Corps mechanic tells me the fuel lines were damaged when they pulled the cab to fix the original warranty work. When I told them I didn't want them to fix the gas leak, they charged my wife $125 for diagnosing it. Have bought my last three vehicles there, will not be buying my next three. My company mechanic is fixing it for free, he agrees %100 percent that they damaged the fuel system when they pulled the cab. Don't want a free fix, just want a fair deal . . . I hope that $125 is put to good advertising. I'll be advertising how bad their service department sucks for free, what a joke!
Update 1-28-2017 Replaced the pump / lines myself, $250.13 from Napa. Took me less than three hours to do it.
Also, it was clear when I removed the tank that it hadn't been removed previously, what was the $125 troubleshooting fee they charged my wife for? To pull it in the maintenance bay (30 Seconds), put on lift (30 Seconds), look at fuel dripping from tank (30 seconds). Maybe take a camera scope and put it above the tank to inspect the lines, condition of the fuel pump housing (2 minutes).
What was the $1500 plus quote to fix it for? Is your shop rate $650 an hour ($250 for good quality pump)? What a ripoff!
Wonderful car buying experience. Love my Chevy sonic. Still runs like new 14 months later. Service people know me by name and I've only been in for routine service. Still get friendly emails from my sales guy.
